Silas is a quiet assassin. This dude is stone cold. I remember Kobe didn’t get along with Phil. The thing is, Kobe needed a Phil to hold him to account. James has always been the man of the family. Maybe Silas’s patience and steadfastness is what Hames needed. You can’t always get what you want... sometimes you get what you need. By the way Kobe won a couple championships under Phil... 5 to be exact.
I had to defend harden at my local cornhole league tonight about the quitting suspicion. Its ridiculous.
I bet if he wanted to, he could be the assist king for an entire season.. especially with Christian Wood around and finally win a championship... why? Because he won’t be so damn predictable in the post season. They couldn’t double him anymore because everyone else on the team will get used to scoring. The system built to beat Golden State isn’t needed cause GS is gone. With a big team like Lakers, ball movement and passing is faster than trying to get around the Lebron’s and AD’s, and Montrezl Harrels in the paint.
Silas is defending a situation he can't control. Harden thinking about himself being traded, that is unavoidable. He's still playing fairly well in one game, good for him.
Exactly. And tonight I saw some things I definitely did not like, but nothing out of the ordinary. Harden missed defensive assignments left and right, off the ball his man had freedom to just move around and got to the basket easily. Wood pointed it out and Harden was his usual self, like what was I supposed to do. In a 30+ point game I get it, but habits build character and if teams let up in these type of games you will not just "find" it in big games. That's exactly what we've struggled with the last few years, not showing up against bad teams, thinking we can just turn it on. Tonight was a good sign we are hopefully not that team anymore. I saw a lot of hunger, Harden was engaged on offense and played well. I do however see something in his eyes that tells me he's not really as engaged as before. He seems to go through the motions even if he does play good basketball.
Idk when Calvin became basketball yahweh, and just because he said something it’s true... nobody ever brought up Calvin’s thoughts on a game until he said Harden “quit” just because he struggled and only had 15 points and 12 assists against Indiana who was playing very good team defense...Turner had 8 blocks, and they did a good job of walling off the paint against James Steph had 13 points on 5-17 shooting against the Clippers that same night. Did he “quit” too? Or is that energy only given for Harden? I think I know the answer... gimme a break...
