If Harden stays, the Rockets team is a championship contender

Everyone was taking a dump on Stone as soon as he moved up into his position...totally unfair...got to realize that Morey was working with a very talented team that he trained up. Morey was great for us, but he was smart to hire people who would help him be successful,

 

Thats a interesting stat, probably has to do with sharing the ball.

I agree as I'm not fully sold on our chances of championship contention quite just yet either; 3-4 is not exactly undeniable proof, granted those half court statistics actually look way more promising than how the eye test has appeared thus far. We can of course point to the depleted roster, early nagging injuries, & Harden's slight slump (for whatever reason(s) it occurred. Bigger picture, our general inconsistency and rebounding seem to yet again be our biggest glaring holes issues, which is somewhat interesting since the team has had a pretty significant overhaul in terms of the new roster changes & updated schemes/style of play.

I still believe that the personnel and scheme changes are going to help us in the long run though, and people should keep in mind that the team has been able to have these temporary flashes of great play without virtually any minicamp, practices or play time spent together at full strength in order to gel. Team oriented approaches always tend to outperform & prove more reliable in the playoffs overall, so it definitely stands to reason we'll at least be a bona fide playoff threat if we can consistently get everyone clicking on all cylinders. We'll have a much better idea as to what exactly our roster & team chemistry will look like for the rest of this season within the next month or so. If we should be lucky enough to get the team playing in sync, we'll hopefully be at a place where we can go on a run.

Haven't been a 'full' / 'complete' team for most of those games. I'm interested to see what a fully healthy Rockets squad looks like.

 

I'm afraid there won't be a "full" squad this year. Harden has quit and checked out.

 

lets see how we do against the Lakers the next 2 games before sipping the kool-aid..

If we go 2-0 or 0-2, there will be a very different reaction.

To be fair, that defensive rating took a rocket up the ass after the Magic game.

Small sample size but Rockets have been inconsistent on both sides of the ball, for a myriad of reasons.

Portland plays no defense. Sacramento is trash and so is the Magic. Not to mention Orlando was missing 2 of their best players.
