    looking from a different angle,

it is more likely that Moscow Mitch doesn't want his wife to get involve w voting (among the VP and cabinet members) on the 25th amendment

    the same for Betsy Devoes

I really don’t think Trump understands his words - doesn’t communicate effectively- I just don’t think he meant for people to March to the capital and bust inside the building even this his words seemed suggest at least going towards the capital to share in the anger fit rally - I really don’t think he meant for proud boys to be ready to go nuts -

I really think he’s angry at the left for the Russia hoax and feels attacked and lashes out in anger without measuring his words -

he thinks it’s a sign of weakness to admit defeat - the president is not a glamorous job - in fact it prolly sucks in many ways to be loathed by half the country no matter what

It’s a service job that at best lasts 4-8 years - you have to be service minded and politically savvy to do well -

If Biden does well then the country does well and if not he gets sidetracked for someone else - very simple - but having someone without political savvy can’t happen

Instead of resigning, these cowardly a$$holes ought to be invoking the 25th. All their resignations are nothing but tacit admissions that he needs to be removed but they're too spineless to do it, so they abandon the sinking ship.

He is the president of the USA.
He got the second most votes ever in the history of the country.
Stop underestimating him and undermining his intelligence.

He knows what he is doing. He has tons of political savvy. The dictator kind of savvy. He is an extremely succesfull populist.
So many republicans are jealous of him but they aren't as good populists as he is.

Not that we did before... but at this point, we do not have a functioning government...

How many of Benedict Donald's lackeys would be resigning if the coup had been successful?

Who do you think coordinated the piss poor response from law enforcement? Why would the DoD refuse to send the National Guard? If you think that this isn’t what Trump wanted then you are stupid on a level rarely seen in nature. He wanted “his” “patriots” to hang his enemies on the gallows that they brought. Luckily, they are only slightly worse at attempting a coup than you are at rational thought.

Supposedly trump has had a history of bashing but cipollone has probably been most responsible for keeping trump in office and out of jail.

He denied national guard assistance, according to a governor.

I think he wanted them to make a lot of noise on his behalf and remain loyal to him as he heads into his post-presidency. And, if somehow they can delay the vote counting and buy him more time to complicate the transfer, all the better.

Whatever his reasoning, his actions have been grossly irresponsible and the sooner he’s out of power the better.

I like how all these idiots think they are taking a stand by resigning now with a week to go.

The "shock" by people like Cruz and Graham and even McConnell is either faux or they are too stupid to lead the country.

They knew who he was and what he would do and they tolerated it and even encouraged it.

    They are cowards.

Pathetic, gross excuse making. Get that crap out of here. Trump wanted the mob to go down there. There is absolutely zero question about that. And when they broke into the Capitol, he was delighted because they were “his” army interrupting the certification process. He could not unleash the actual military, so he was more than happy for the mob to do that work. He finally got to be the dictator that he wanted to be for the entirety of his presidency. Why do you think he sent out those weak ass tweets when they were in the capitol? The very last thing he wanted to do was to call them back. They were invading in his name, for his glory. Your excuse making is sickening and pathetic.

Who gives a flying f-ck about whether or why he was angry. Or whether he thinks it is a weakness to admit defeat. This isn’t fifth grade where we worry about Johnny getting his feelings hurt. You run for and get the presidency, either live up to the standards and obligations or face the music.

Completely agree. He wanted the noise and the show but at the same time I don’t think he realized the extent the mob would go until it looked bad for him.

And the reason for that is he doesn't really care about what the mob does, except insofar as it brings him bad press and causes him to lose supporters. If they infiltrated the Capitol building but somehow his supporters (including his advisors) remained steadfast with him, he wouldn't have cared. That's the scary thing about him.

You two POS fecking idiots really think this was a coup attempt? Lmfao ! No it was a group of frustrated people who felt like they wanted to make some noise, cause a bit of ruckus and let off some steam ...in the process , some cops got injured., one died due to heart stress and then one unarmed protester got shot and killed. if this was a coup attempt with any salt, there would be armed insurrection, thousands of bullets flying from even one person is possible and actual hanging of the squad members very likely

    Heart stress?

"The circumstances surrounding Mr. Sicknick's death were not immediately clear, and the Capitol Police said only that he had “passed away due to injuries sustained while on duty.” At some point in the chaos — with the mob rampaging through the halls of Congress while lawmakers were forced to hide under their desks — he was struck with a fire extinguisher, according to two law enforcement officials."

Likely true, he doesn’t care unless it looked bad for him, he has zero empathy for anyone. That high strung lady that got killed was a veteran and a mother and simply overzealous as a political ring wing crusader...she will get no regrets from Trump. If he simply had a rally and said “hey all. I’m not happy with the results, I feel there was shady things that happen on voting but unless we can absolutely prove anything we have to go by the process. And we will bide our time and learn from this and have a better plan the next time” instead of his other words,...lives saved and he looks better for it
