All of those QBs have competent leadership why would they need to provide input? They trust the decision-makers. You trust Cal McNair and Jack Easterby to make better decisions about football than Deshaun Watson?
**** you. How many great teams are taken hostage by players. This is a sign of poor management. There are 31 other teams and so many people already believe due to the decisions of ownership the fans deserve to suffer so **** it if he wants to go let him go and start over with a qb that understands he's a number on a jersey and not team president. **** all these emo ****ers
Listen to do this. The ****ing team character coach/team pastor whatever the **** that means could potentially costs this franchise the best player its ever had at the most important position. This is ****ing ridiculous and Cal is a ****ing idiot. WHY THE **** DOES EASTERBY HAVE SO MUCH INFLUENCE OVER THIS ORGANIZATION. I hate when ownership of a sports franchise gets passed down to the owners lineage as more often than not they're ****ing buffoons in life that have no balls and road daddy's coat tail to get into the positions they are in.
Based on the fact that he's not Cal McNair or Jack Easterby, two guys that don't know anything about football. Answer my question, who knows more about football? Deshaun or Mcnair and Easterby?
JJ Watt Should be the one to come and say he is unhappy with this team not Watson. Watt Has been on this team since day 1. He should definitely be involved to everything in this organization.
Caserio, and I'm not caping for dude but Deshaun is just a qb. A very good one but he's just a qb. Least you forget, Deshaun wanted to keep Billy in place even after he traded Hop so what the **** is that?
seriously. imagine siding with a fake pastor masquerading as a football exec instead of your franchise QB. it's almost like cal is just happy there is someone willing to be his friend so he just does whatever he says. i look forward to rooting for deshaun watson's career once he escapes this clown show.
From what I read, he didn’t want to make the decisions. He just wanted input and to offer candidates and have them interviewed, not necessarily hired. Very easy thing to do, and of course Cal ****ed that up. The last regime destroyed this franchise for the foreseeable future making one terrible personnel decision after another...don’t think it is a stretch to give your franchise qb a voice, even if you just go along with it and hire who you want anyway. Deshaun has been a total pro this whole time, watching this franchise continue to sink into a self-inflicted abyss without complaining and playing hurt and having a good attitude and not speaking out. Again, the easy thing to have done was interview a few people he suggested.
JJ knows he's played his last snap here, no need to step out of character. He's going to stay classy and say all the right things when he's traded on draft weekend. He's not one of those whiney ****ing mommas boys that get in their feelings, leak quotes, throws stones and hide their hands then tweet rap lyrics
the fact they talked about letting deshaun be involved, if true, just makes this worse. even if none of this background were true, the simple optics of cal / easterby hopping on a plane to escort caserio down here for his interview are terrible and make it hard to avoid concluding that they were always going with him, regardless of all the other noise. just unprofessional and dishonest given all the smoke and mirrors they went through with hiring korn ferry and interviewing other candidates. or maybe cal was considering all candidates until easterby was like 'bro, wouldn't it be totally awesome if we took the jet to pick up nick and have a sleepover?' i'm not sure which is worse, i just know the texans suck and probably are destined to always suck.
Brees, Brady Wilson and Mahomes all have competent ownership and front offices who build great rosters around them and don’t let a buffoon head coach and a fake preacher run a franchise into the ground. Why would they have problems with their fantastic organizations?
So what is the norm in situations like this? Do star players often have a say in HC/ GM? I could see an Elway, Manning, Brady type player having some say after they have a ring or later in their career but a 25 year old...I don’t know about that one.
Texans have been a trash organization from the start and the McNairs suck at ownership. Nothing has changed they've wasted the careers of AJ, Watt, DHop and now are doing the same with Deshaun. I don't blame Watson for acting out at all.
