I'll go all in for Joe Brady. They should just give him a good assistant head coach with experience who can help him. Then get him a good defensive coordinator that had head coaching experience. Joe Brady can call the offensive plays. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

That's fine... but on paper, his qualifications are pretty much in line with the experience of BOB, minus BOB's college head coach stint and I suppose slightly less overall team success... and also pretty much in line with Kubiak, minus Kubiak's playing career and being a play-caller for a SB champion.

Granted, nobody knows anything, nobody can predict the future... he could be the next Sean Payton or the next Adam Gase.... or the next Kyle Shannahan or the next Gary Kubiak... or the next BOB.

I've changed my mind, hire a DC to be head coach.

Deshaun being unhappy may hurt the ability to get the best candidates

Watson said he wanted Bienemy, Cal hired Caserio and Caserio is going to hire the HC like most GM'S do. It appears that Bienemy isn't on the Caserio short list and DW4's throwing a fit. Am I reading this right?

If you can get an acceptable trade at this point for DW4 you should do it.

Probably gonna piss him off anyways but don’t tell him you’re gonna get his input or he’s gonna be involved and then do the exact opposite.

Cal’s a dumbass and apparently knows nothing so he’s got all the voices in his ear. Hired a search firm, another fake committee, Watson, Jack Easterby (and now Caserio).

    __________

“Texans owner Cal McNair previously informed Watson he would be involved in the process and be asked to provide feedback during the team's search for a GM and head coach, but that has not happened to this point, Rapoport noted.”

“Watson offered input on potential general manager candidates, but the Texans neither considered nor consulted with those endorsed by their franchise quarterback, league sources told ESPN.”

“Watson had met with Texans owner Cal McNair in several instances, sharing thoughts on certain candidates who came highly recommended, with Watson suggesting that the team at least talk to them, sources told ESPN. He did not expect Houston to hire those he endorsed, but Watson was hoping the Texans would respect the feelings of the group of teammates he was trying to represent, sources told ESPN.”

“Even if the Texans didn't want to move forward with any of Watson's recommended candidates, sources told ESPN that Watson wanted to at least have the opportunity to meet with ownership's finalists so he could offer thoughts from a player standpoint to benefit the team -- and then the Texans could hire who they wanted. That opportunity never came.”

He has actually accepted other interviews. He just declined the Texans. He still plans to interview with other teams.

    Didn’t know that.

Bad look but I still had Brady as top choice

Posted this in the DW4 thread but he was literally the only positive for this team. With the already ongoing issues with this franchise, good candidates are going to stay away.

It will be very interesting to see if a team is willing to offer the job to a candidate they haven't met face to face yet. Guys like EB, Eberflus, Daboll, and others still playing can only interview virtually until their season is over.
