He is right. A politician exercising his duty shouldnt be prosecuted. However he is the one making the laws. If america doesn't have laws that stop employers firing people based on their political beliefs that is his own fault. Now that he tastes the bitter fruit he doesn't like it?

"Representing my constituents" ... so, that's the excuse he's going with. That might fly with someone in the House of Representatives. A Senator is supposed to rise above the "passions" of their constituency.
