I have great respect for Calvin's judgment, but I'm willing to give Harden the benefit of the doubt over the last 2 games because of his ankle injury. @ApacheWarrior
The main reason why the team isn't good is because Harden isn't good. The team is built on the notion that Harden is a superstar player and he's been playing like a role player. If Harden was playing like Harden, the team is one of the top teams in the West.....Harden just needs a heart transplant for that to happen. Because he played the entirety of his career before free agency was a thing, he couldn't just decide to go play for a team that would carry him like your boy Harden wants to do.
Sometimes, yeah. Harden is the best ISO player in the game and it's one of the most efficient things the Rockets do. When he's being a little passive b**** just looking to be carried, it has ALWAYS brought the team down, this isn't the first time he's quit on the team and played like this. We've seen Harden's lack of character for years now.
Yeah, I could see a certain type of person thinking that....but wow, you must really not think very highly of Harden if you are one of those people who judge individual players based on team accomplishment.
He is currently the biggest problem this roster has. As I said, it's based on the notion that Harden is a superstar player, not a mediocre role player. When he plays like a mediocre role player, the team is sunk. If he ever finds it in him to care again, the team would be a contender.
Why? It's just a fact. It's been that way for quite some time now. When Harden plays like Harden, the team does well, when he quits on them and turns into a passive b****.....as he has numerous times over the years, the team is sunk. That's just what happens when your best player is a weak minded person. He's got the talent, he just wasn't raised to have the character needed. I'm sure his momma tried....but she clearly failed.
Wow didn't see this until now. He is being honest about not knowing what went on in DC because he was getting ready for the game. Definitely think he is lying about the ankle. Sounded like it hurt him to answer the question. Maybe it's not so much as quit as he was just able to do it right, plus guys having off shooting nights.
Back in those days (when the NBA was played by real men and not little boys) everything ran through the big man. Calvin is only 5'9 (shortest player in the HOF). At least his team made a NBA Finals (with a losing record too I might add) unlike someone who will remain nameless that won a MVP and had the best record in the NBA.
The TEAM is small and mediocre. The coach is a first year guy cutting his teeth. The GM is a first year guy cutting his teeth. The team is hard capped and don't have a lot of room to get better. They are not a contender man.
He lost to a powerhouse that had a better team just like Harden did in WCF twice to the Warriors. So did Calvin quit or was his team just not good enough to beat the Celtics?
The team is small, but it's the most talented roster since the first CP3 year, the only difference is that Harden played like a superstar for that team and he's been playing like just a role player in the last few games due to him quitting on the team. I get that you are a Harden simp, but your guy really is the biggest problem with the team. His lack of effort and temper tantrums have been a problem since before the season started. If Harden was a better person, the Rockets would be having better results, simple as that.
You realize when people point out Harden quitting now and in the past, they aren't talking simply about the outcome of games right? It's talking about how that individual plays. We know what it looks like when Harden quits because he's done it so often in the past. We know what it looks like when Harden is engaged as well. Those who are willing to see the truth can tell the difference between the two.
See here is my thing about that. I hate when fans try to use a previous injury as an excuse. If you are hurt then simply don't play, it's really that simple. It's only the sixth game of the year. Everyone rolls their ankles in basketball. Ankle sprains are the #1 injury in the sport and EVERYONE GETS THEM. I would imagine the average NBA game has at least 1-2 players rolling their ankles each game. If Harden had dropped 60 points last night with his 12 assist nobody here would be saying that he is hurt. But because he has a bad game that automatically becomes the go to defense. It goes both ways.
