The Harden situation is a mess. However, this team needs to be way better than .500 without Harden if they are to win a championship. After all, Harden allegedly disappears and shrinks in the playoffs. He's going to have a stinker like this one if he is lazy or teams triple team him. Can the rest of the team win when that happens? If not, we're wasting our time. Harden is a franchise player but not the one who can win a title like a Dirk or Hakeem, carrying the team on his back against super teams. Plan for that. I don't think Harden is staying, there will be too much bitterness. I'm sure guys like Wall, Cousins and Wood just want to exceed expectations and don't appreciate the antics. Silas wants to have a great coaching career. At this point, treat Harden like a 25ppg player who rebounds and passes well but doesn't play consistent defense or motion offense. If we can win with that, good. If not, then this Harden trade is not going to fix our problems so it better set us up for the future.
This isn't on Harden. Silas either walks up to stone and tells him to get us dependable 3's or we're done. The floor isn't spaced out like it was last year. We wanted a bunch of guys with grit yet we don't have guys that can shoot. What are we trying to be the grizzlies of mid 2000's?
Sure thing 4-2 2 of those games without 6 or so guys 1 with no Harden. 1 with no Wood. But okay whatever. Yet you have an excuse for 2/3 season of letting bad teams win with their lack of effort. Okay whatever
We had a Harden who actually wanted to play not this Harden. Its not fair to judge the two situations.
Oh yea we never had anybody injured or miss guys...you are totally right about that. We should be winning these games with the roster we have no excuses. These Dallas and Pacers losses are not good. The way offense has looked has been "okay" at best.
We've had Harden look like this plenty last year, it was Westbrook who was playing well. Wall played well tonight but we would take enough 3s to drown out our mediocre volume. And there is no reason to believe that James isnt injured, he wouldnt just try for three games and then suddenly decide to quit.
Small ball was why we came back. The 90's are over guys. There is no Nikola Jokic or Joel Embid on this team.
You talking about Mclemore? I read that he was out today and Monday due to conditioning issues. May be ready Friday but maybe not. Silas didn’t play him since he is not healthy yet. I assume he will give him a chance once Ben is fully cleared.
It’s not really all in his hands, Cousins needs to keep his head on straight, Wood healthy and Stone work the phones
Its not Cousins fault....he.....he's just no good defensively. I know....that doesnt mean putting Boogie in would have gave us a win.
I'm sure Cousins still think he's one of the best player Center in the league. When the coach opts to finish the game with a 6'5 guy instead of him, it was probably slowly killing him inside.
"Thank you Silas a real coach" Thank him for what exactly? For being a nice guy? So far he has a mediocre offense and a mediocre defense and his team has no identity at all. He deserves more time to turn things around but just because the amount of praise he has gotten is weird.
He's getting praised for two reasons. 1. He's not Dantoni 2. There was a bunch of media hype about his hire. I think Daryl wanted to hire him over Dantoni I actually like the guy and want to give him a chance though. Lets see if the Rockets can get the last laugh for once.
