    Hi All.

Will be visiting San Antonio with a young child. Will hit the Riverwalk and Zoo. What are the best Mexican Restauraunts? (esp on the Riverwalk) Any other good activities for a 3-year old? How about the Witte?

Casa Rio on the Riverwalk. Awesome...be prepared for a long wait though. Well worth the wait.

I was there last weekend with the family and we ate at Mi Tierra near Market Square. It was awesome!

Yes, go see the Witte, we went when my youngest was 5 and she loved it. Also, I don't remember what day of the week it was but the admission was free after a certain time of that day.

Seaworld is closed during the week until late May.

    Mi Tierra huh? Thanks.

Glad to hear the Witte is worthwhile. We'll definitely schedule that one.

Mi Tiera is one of the worst Mexican places in town, so don't let the long lines fool you.

Tourists tend to flock there since it's the largest place in the market and they don;t know where else to go, not because it's great.

What would you recommend on the Riverwalk?

Actually the food is good, this could also be the cause of long lines.

Tourists tend to flock there since it's the largest place in the market and they don;t know where else to go, not because it's great.

He will be a tourist in town so maybe this is a large place for his children and himself to be around a family atmosphere. He also will be around many other tourist places like the wax museum, carnival, and of course the Alamo.

I called my brother and he told me that Mi Tiera and Casa Rio are good places to eat. He told me that there are places away from downtown that are way better, but you probably dont want to take your family into those neighborhoods.

All Mexican food on the riverwalk is going to taste about the same. If you want to try some good authentic Mexican, try Rosario's. It is located just on Alamo and St. Marys. That is some good food, but it is about 10 mins away from the Riverwalk. Another option is La Margarita which is right next to Mi Tierra. Same owners as Mi Tierra, just a different restaurant.

Non Mexican riverwalk rest.- Bourdo's, Hard Rock, Lone Star Cafe, Republic of Texas, Mad Dogs.
