Toronto wants in on the conversation. James isn't signing an extension there. And, P.S. doesn't give us anything that Beandip, Tobias or Simmons (ugh) already offer. (I think John Wall is going to return to 22/5/10 per game this year) IF* James is dealt any time soon, all I hear is multiple teams want in in order to get different needs met. Siakam meets a need in a position, which is great. But, the Rockets, if competitive, still need a guy to create his own shot at the end of the game. There are very few in the league who can do that, let alone ones that are worth giving up the Rockets best SG (Outside of my guy Cuttino ). It may be true, but I'm hearing Toronto is more noise than anything. The Rockets are patient with offers AND James isn't begging to go somewhere where he can't win.
You hate Simmons lol. I love his game. He's #2 on my favorites after Brown. He was #1 but Wall's resurgence makes me want to build better around him for now. I've definitely moved on to wanting Brown + Smart though. I think that allows Eric to slot in at the starting 2 and would give the team some great playmaking and tenacity off of the bench. Still a hole at the 4 though longterm unless Tate is that guy. Where do you stand on your favorite package (if James has to go)?
If Simmons has been offerd I’m not sure what the hold up is? . At this point he might be the best defensive player in the nba. He would fit really well next to Wood as a defensive force. Throw in a couple of picks and Maxey and we got a deal
Harden, Tucker, Clemons(waived) to Raps Siakam, McLemore(TPE) to Nuggets Harris, Powell, MPJ, Nnaji, Flynn + 4 Raptor 1st to Rockets Waive Bruno, sign Gerald Wall / Harris / Flynn Gordon / Powell / Brown Tate / Nwaba / Green MPJ / House / Martin Wood / Cousins / Nnaji
That’s not at all what he posted, just that he thinks it’s unlikely. He literally said “it may be true.”
Guys like Spanoulis and Motiejunas were going to lead us somewhere though, right? In the entire history of the Rockets, they've had one shepherd who led them to the title. And it took that guy a decade to do it. If your belief in trading a player is that the only ones worth keeping are the ones who will definitely lead us to a title by themselves, then the team should probably close up shop until it gets the next Jordan or Olajuwon. But trading a (conference finals) shepherd for a bunch of sheep doesn't seem like it puts us on much of a title path, either.
If harden refuses to sign an extension it’s pretty much a no go!....Codeman just mentioned harden has no interest to going there and signing an extension and it’s just noise then reality. Raptors are not going to give up the farm for a one and half season rental
