LeBron taking over down the stretch, 36 years old and still playing at this level. Absolutely unbelievable...
I don't know why Shaq does this belittling of other big men. There's no reason to bash players, like Javale McGee, Rudy Gobert, or even HOF, like Bill Walton. They've all earned their stripes in league in some way or another, they aren't bums. I think Rudy is a little overpaid, but he is worth most of his salary. He gives you, dominant defense and rebounding, while being a decent offensive players (he's not horrible offense player by any stretch of the imagination). For a player comparison, if we transported Dikembe Mutombo to the modern day NBA, outstanding defender and good rebounder. Would he not deserve a similar contract to Gobert? Would Shaq belittle Mutombo for only average 11-13 ppg? Remember, Mutombo was pretty well paid, back in the 90s, to his center peers. Shaq, in his own right, would probably be a $40-55 MM, he'd be worth more than Gobert. Rudy is only making what the market allows, it's not astronomical. Right now, he's the 39th highest paid player at his current salary, though he's going to jump up, because of the new deal. It looks expensive, right now, but he's going to fall on that list, quickly. Because there are alot of big name players who becoming free agents. $50 MM offer was thrown out there for Harden.
