Sure but Cal was also clear in that a GM would come first and that they’d be part of the HC process. So if you are a candidate, you have to question on whether this is actually the case or at the very least, how much input you would actually have.
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-power-ranking-open-nfl-gm-jobs-2020-season 4. HOUSTON TEXANS Projected 2021 Cap Space: -$15.3 million (26th) Key Free Agents: WR Will Fuller V, CB Vernon Hargreaves III, CB Gareon Conley Blue-Chip Players: QB Deshaun Watson, LT Laremy Tunsil The Texans' general manager job has what every team in the NFL is looking for: a franchise quarterback. They just don’t have many other pieces or any way of acquiring them for at least another year. Houston doesn't own a pick until the third round this year, and the only players the team can cut who will give them $10 million-plus in cap space are Brandin Cooks and J.J. Watt — the Texans' two highest-graded players after Watson this season. It’s a roster that has been decimated by a complete lack of young, cheap talent walking through the doors. Pretty much every quality starter on this roster is already on their second contract. I hope that any general manager who takes this job has a lot of hobbies, as they won't be able to do much to improve this roster for a while.
If Cal if hires caserio, I'd really be through with this orginization, if you could even call it one.
Idk from all accounts this guy is the guy we have been after and from everything reported about him he is all business. Not your O’Brien or Easterby that’s for sure. And also checks every box required for Watson.
I’ve mentioned this way way back about a possible Caserio and McDaniels combo coming to Houston. And I for one would be all for it. Ive said before my choices have been Eric B McDaniels or Dabo.
McDaniels with Watson = fireworks People have always said imagine the things McDaniels could do with a mobile QB. He could also keep Kelly on staff to please Watson as well. “IF” this happens Caserio and McDaniels...the transition will be smooth and we wouldn’t have to necessarily go through the whole rebuild process.
He has had Tebow and Newton, who are mobile qbs. Nothing spectacular with the way he’s coached them up.
