Love Harden, but it is clear that John Wall plays better and more aggressively without him. Rockets are good, but lack the size/depth to contend for a title this year. A multiple player trade could fix chemistry issues and potentially take us to the next level. Team looked flat last night and Silas IMPLIED that it was Harden (through his isolation) that hurt the team. Call me crazy, but something just doesn’t seem to mesh with Wall and Harden. Wall seems so much happier and aggressive when Harden is on the bench.
As usual Haymitch, you supply so much to the discussion. We live in your world ONLY and if it goes against your thought process (i.e, your insane love for small ball) then it must be banned.
I want Harden to stay more than anything. I'd be devastated if he left and we will never get equal value in return....however, theoretically if Wall's contract is locked into our team moving forward, it's not implausible that a different set of complementary players could highlight his skills better. Would it lead to more team success? I don't know. But I get what OP is saying, if losing Harden is a foregone conclusion anyway (still don't know exactly where his head is).
I think Wall, Gordon, and Wood were just as guilty of over-isolation as Harden. Each time they got the ball, they faced up on their defenders and dribbled back and forth trying to beat their man, rather than running a real play. Wall, especially seemed very eager to isolate whenever he had the ball.
What are the historical numbers for Harden's backcourt teammates with him on and off the court? That could turn out to be interesting. In Harden's defense, I'm sure Christian Wood likes sharing the court with him.
John Wall is 3rd in the league in isolations per game and 2nd in isolation frequency right behind Harden even tho he’s only giving u 0.82 ppp and Harden is at 1.09 John Wall was trying to dance on his defender a lot last night as well, so not sure how Silas is singling out Harden

5 games into the season 2 times Harden and Wall have played together "It's time" "Harden and Wall don't work" Uh. Yeh. Ok.
This is like getting another point guard and Pair him with Luka. It won’t work. Harden thrives with Shooters and a rolling dominant big man.
