I have to agree about the mistake that JJ had on that play but he's been a great contributor to this team througout this year playing under VG system and doing his job of what he's ask to do. Can't say for majority of hte other players.

I can't understand the fans of Houston. How can you blame this loss on Jackson? For a while there, he single handily led our comeback to even get the chance to go to overtime. If it were not for a couple of huge shots in OT for Francis, we would have lost anyway. Players aren't perfect. I hate when fans try to pin the loss on ONE player. It is a TEAM game, not an individual game. There are a lot of reason the Rockets lost, but there are just as many reason the Lakers could have lost.

We played our hearts out. we had a critical turnover, but Yao fouled out and that hurt us too. Once again, we are showing some real talent and we will be a great team int he years to follow.

Not JJ's fault, I think Mobley is the guy to blame, apparently he can't hit any tonight, but this guy was stupid enough keeping shooting those freaking three's until late in the game, is there any problem with his IQ's? Didn't JVG remind him ?

    4-22 from three, that's 18% and insurmountable.

This loss was a team effort. You can point to numerous reasons as to why they lost.

The inability to hit 3's or hit a lot of mid range jump shots (Taylor)

Yao in foul trouble, wasn't much of a force

Jackson and Francis costly turnovers at the end

and the list goes on. It's NOT fair to blame one player for this loss

Please don't confuse one idiotic comment with the opinion of the Houston fans.

    Agreed - to an extent.

Jackson was a very valuable role player for the first 50 games.

In the last couple of months, he's obviously started to regard himself as a star. He's not. Sorry. Hasn't been in 10 years.

But he began to think that way - and his value to the team declined as a result. He was terrific as long as he played good D, took good shots, and played w/in the offense. Some of his shots, the last couple of months, have been very ill-advised.

Also, he didn't dive for some loose balls that he potentially could have gotten.

I'm not very enamored of JJ right now. Still, all in all, his presence has been a plus - just not as much as it could have been if he had played as he did in the beginning all year.

    Reasons for loss:

-Cuttino Mobley did make some excellent drives down the stretch, but he also had TOO many 3 point shot attempts. Especially considering his ability to penetrate.

-Steve dribbling between his legs before his airball. I don't mind his simple left to right/right to left and pullup. It's when he dribbles between his legs, then goes for that mid-range shot....HE WILL ALWAYS MISS THAT.

    -MoTaylor taking several 18ft+ jumpshots.

-Jim Jackson's stupid pass. Kobe's hand was right there down low before JJ even passed it. It's as if he passed it right to him.

    -Yao Ming with stupid fouls

-The 6th foul on Yao, which was a 3-point play for Malone.
    Honestly, where was the foul?

The typical saying of "We beat ourselves" proves true here.
    Rockets up by 4.
All they had to do is slow down the game, penetrate and score or draw the foul, and stop taking those damn outside shots.

what i dont get is WHY Jim Jackson was bringing the ball up in the first place. The guy is a very average ball handler at best. TOs like that are BOUND to happen.

Without JJ this game doesnt even get close to OT. 20 Rebs!? That is insane, and he was the only Rocket able to get a board.

MoT's inability to rebound, or rather ability to stand and watch Karla grab the most important board of the game is one of the biggest problems.

This one was a team loss .. You can't pick out a single player and say that they did not have flaws in this game.

I don't think you are fair.

He committed some errors, but he did some great things in the mean time. He should not be called out like this.

What about those 3 shots he hit in the 3rd Q as the shot clock expired?

We get your "point". The Rockets suck. That's your schtick and everyone knows it. It's been old for a while now.

man, you are blaming the wrong guy. We shot horriblly as a team, especially Cat. He made a couple of big shots in OT, but that is pretty much all his contribution in this game.

We wouldn't be where we are without JJ. He is the third most valuable player on this team this year, while 6 guys make more than he does.

Harsh to put the blame on a single player.

The Rockets played well today, but the Lakers played better.

I really thought we were going to win. i can't believe that we went from 4pts up to 4pts down and lose.

    This one really hurt.....badley. :(

Yes, Jimmy was good in the third quarter. I don't deny that. But for such an experienced player to turn the ball over in the situation he did is inexcusable. I would have expected that from Francis or Mobley, but not Jackson. At the most important moment in probably the last five seasons, Jim Jackson ckoked, and it probably ended the Rockets' season. All he had to do was make a basic pass...

By the way: I didn't say the Rockets sucked. This loss tears my heart out. I haven't felt this bad about a game since Stockton hit that three. I'm just pissed that the Rockets, especially Jackson, blew the game the way they did. They had this game in complete control, and literally threw it all away.

You cant be serious. This team wouldn't be in the playoffs without Jim Jackson. He's an undersized SF grabbing 20 rebounds. I'll admit that he made some a costly mistake, but what can we do. Rasheed Wallace
lost the freaking ball out of mid air in Detroit. It happens and it's unfortunate. I really wanted the rockets to win this game. We just have to hope that they can play the game of their lives on Wednesday night. Go Rockets. I'm out.
