Flood would be unreal. Obviously Muschamp would be nice, I wouldn’t be mad if Ash is retained. The defense was much improved as the season went on.
Looks like Sarkisian learned from Saban, that if you cant have one bad assistant coach. Apparently the boosters are going to step up and pay for an all star cast of assistant coaches. (About time)
Have they not paid for assistants before? The most important thing is talent. Time to start paying the athletes.
I also thought the guys that played in the bowl game (Robinson and Thompson) looked ok and the offense looked different when a QB who could throw down field.
This sounds a lot like "Urban Meyer to Texas!" Why would the OL Coach at perennial national title contender Alabama do a lateral move to the same role at no-Big-12-title-in-over-10-years Texas? NFL makes sense. Texas seems unlikely.
Budget for assistants has never been an issue from what I can remember. To me, player development has been by far the biggest issue with the program. And that goes back to the Mack years.
FWIW, Shaka seems like a good dude and hoping this team has truly turned the corner. Herman on the other hand made his own bed and sounds like his firing had as much to do with his personality.
Two other assistants of significance have surfaced: Holmon Wiggins - Bama WR Coach Corey Raymond - LSU DB Coach Skeptical that Saban would let Wiggins walk after possibly coaching up the first Heisman WR in 30 years. I’d say the same thing about Raymond but timing might be right with Coach O bringing in a new DC. Needless to say either one would be incredible hires.
