The Sopranos Springsteen moment was his song Mr State Trooper. It was lfirst season last episode. I was blown away
Maybe I'm jealous of his success. I don't know. But the blue jean wearing, blue collar hero thing has always felt inauthentic to me. Maybe someday.
Springsteen just released a new record. He brought back some of those classic E Street sounds and they recorded it all live in the studio. This isn't bad for a guy in his early 70s
Have you listened to Song For Orphans from the Letter to You album? Wrote in the early 70s. Very Dylanesque
Not yet but its on my list. Heard it was really good. Definitely catching the boss on the next tour, whenever that may be
I saw him at Bonnaroo probably back in 2010 and that show was 3 plus hours and it was the best concert I have ever seen. Granted, there are many artists that I wish I could have seen but of the ones that I have seen (Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, ZZ Top, Interpol, and about a dozen or more), Springsteen was the best. I need to think about this but will try to post my 10 favorite Springsteen songs sometime tomorrow.
I didn't listen to his music at all, growing up. Not much, rock, anyway. But, one day, out of the blue, I found a station playing nothing, but Springsteen songs, on a long trip for far work day. I slowly started to like a good bit of his songs. Yeah, Bob Dylan is one that you think of, but I think Springsteen has his own signature style and gravitas.
Hated Bruce growing up. Thought the whole working man schtick hokey. And thought his singing voice sounded like he was pinching off a loaf. Still feel that way for the most part, but like a fungus he’s grown on me. I’m on fire is an all time great song. I also like his feature in Chinatown by The Bleachers
