Thats just people who dont understand basketball at team level. He is great at almost everything, shows up when needed... i dont understand how trading him brings someone better even for his salary. EG is tough old men style game and when he is on he puts this team over the top
Bro EG is great on defense and good on offense, he is the type of player that fans of other teams start to **** their pants when he sinks his first three 3 steps behind the line. The only one i would trade for might be CJ McCollum but Portland aint giving him up so
He's far from being great on defense. He can be very good on the ball, but he does not have great defensive awareness, gets caught on screens, commits random mistakes, his focus is not always there, does not help you at rebounding, and at the end of the day he is 6-2 so will contest shots but really not bothering the shooter/penetrator. Sometimes will forget the balance, won't help you at transition game... He can be very good 1on1 but defense is much more than that. Offensively he's underrated as penetrator but overrated as a shooter and obviously has a bad decision making. He's still a good and competitive player, no hate to him, good pro, good teammate, but I also think this team would be more balanced with a taller defensive forward (who can shoot it) instead of him.
I understand your point i just think EG dont care that much in RS. He always turns it up in playoffs though and given his health history i accept that. If he has to choose when to eat juice not to breakdown and chooses playoffs im ok with that lol
First off, human beings, for the most part, are not trash. Sick of hearing that so casually tossed around over the last few years here. On EG - Underappreciated and often utilized incorrectly. His skills and athleticism are still at high level. Always plays GREAT D and can get to the rack. EG's shot like the rest of his game is MUCH more efficient off the pine...cuts down the risk of injury too when not stretching out his game... However tempting it is, just play him in his role...or deal him. Folks around here have seen him stretched thin, playing out of position, and now with the new contract. It all distorts how good he really is.
Unfortunately, Gordon might be our starting 2-guard in a post Harden world. And he fits next to Wall. And his perceived value is still low. And his contract is not easily moved.
Personally I think his constant whining after every missed shot has worn thin with everyone who sees him play! He just needs to “Shut Up and Listen Play”... maybe then people will see him more of an asset than a liability... (P.S.) Constant griping is not FUN to watch, it’s actually irritating... ....... ....... .......
Disagree. Your assessment is faulty. Please review the game tapes thoroughly. Pause, rewind whatever it takes for you to see how important he is to this team and how good he actually is on both ends of the floor.
Are you a referee? Opposing team player? Opposing team fan? If not then what is it to you that he complains. You would too if you were hit driving to the basket 7/10 times. Btw many players complain including you guys’ Demi god luka donkey.
who cares lol. Luka donkey complains. Lebron complains. Everyone complains. Get over it. You would too if you had skills and talent to play in the big leagues. Please.
