I agree with that if James would agree to stay. I'd go to him and say " James, you agree to stay for 2 years and not make waves, we'll give your boy 2yr-18mil." I could live with that. At a minimum PJ has value as a situational defender and rebounder. If that's the price of James' silence it's well worth it!
This is a vet minimum post is what this is. PJ going to make you eat your words faster than you eat your ice cream!
Agreed, pay the man if it makes Harden happy....just stop playing him so much. He's worthless on one end of the court and only occasionally decent on the other end. He shouldn't be seeing starter minutes
Tucker's game is very simple, he plays defense and he only shoot corner 3s. So if Wall can not understand this simple fact and at least find him for couple chances to make corner 3s, then its on Wall also. It is almost given that once Harden will be traded, Tucker will be gone too.
He's 35 years old. He'll be 36 in May 2021. How long do people realistically expect him to be starter quality? There are times where he does look overmatched athletically. This will and probably should be his last year unfortunately. The Rockets are right to not give him a multi-year deal.
Silas just needs to be smart on how he plays Tucker. Limit his minutes on the floor until late in the fourth quarter. The lineup of Harden, Wall, Gordon, Wood, Tucker played very well down the stretch IMO, even defensively they were not that bad. I think a lot of Tucker's minutes should be given to Tate personally.
You want to play an even smaller guy at the 4? We already have interior paint issues on D. That would be a nightmare.
Are you referring to the most of the game? I personally think Boogie should get at least 20-25 minutes a game. You can definitely play Wood and Cousins together. And like I said take away some of Tucker's minutes and give those to Tate. But down the stretch I think that's our best lineup, the lineup Silas ran last night. The problem is the 5 spot, we need a quality starting NBA center to push Wood to the 4 and to bring Tuck off the bench. We just need another big.
Yes, but load manage Tucker and keep him fresh for crunch time. He can still bring it, but not for 36 minutes a game.
Paying people for the player they once were instead of paying them for the player they currently are is what really stupid organizations do. It's a way to end up with no cap space and a team full of has-beens.
Contracts in the NBA need to be an expression of expected future value, not some kind of reward for the past. Otherwise, we should still be paying Hakeem.
I really really really hope that his comment was simply exaggerated satire and not his honest to God realistic take on the Tucker situation.
How am I trolling? Has PJ not been the heart and soul of this team 3 years and counting? Has he not been our 2nd to third most valuable piece(best defensive player every time) in the playoffs these past three years. Was he not our CENTER for half the season and made small ball work. Nah, Im not like the SELFISH ASS Tillman STOOGES who dont understand that. PAY HIM. If James Harden stays, you extend him for sure. If James Harden leaves, we are nothing anyways. And we'll be tanking anyways. He can mentor the young guys. Being worried about 8-10 million when you are gonna be tanking significantly is dumb to me.
