Then stop caping for him. We've literally won close games against the GOAT team. Get the hell outta here. And were going to be the GOAT team if we had even a little more help. LOL he spent money on a Lebron team WITHOUT Kyrie Irving, that team was not a lock to come out of the east. Stop with this BS. You have no argument. When you have one of the best players in the league with Harden you spend.
Think about it - in the last decade only 5 teams have won NBA titles. Dallas. The GOAT coach - Popovich and he had 4 HOFER's on that team. Lebron's team 4 (Cleveland , Miami , LA) GSW x3 Toronto - they beat an injury riddled GSW. That's an uphill battle with that GSW squad and Lebron. It's really no shame that Harden hasn't gotten the ultimate prize. That CBA glitch that allowed Durant to sign with GSW broke the league.
Trying to pin Morey vs Stone when they clearly are tied together. Morey hired Stone and they worked closely together for years.
Daryl Morey talent observation on College Prospects is the worst by far, always trading away picks or drafting busts. After Brooks, Landry, trading for Montiejunas, Capela, he never drafted a All Star Marcus Morris over Kawhi Leonard Kyle Lowry for a pick to get Harden, Great Trade Giannis picked 15th,we had the 14th pick sent to OKC Christian Wood was signed by RGV Vipers Summer League Team but released him. What was Daryl Morey doing. I saw the talent Christian had. Daryl was obviously staring at Christian thin frame and said no thank you and released him. Danuel House was sign than released by the Vipers, bounced around to the Warriors, than resigned by the Rockets SMH Hassan Whiteside was signed than released by the Vipers, in a low salary he would've been a 15 pts 10 reb 3 blocks with Capela Nick Nurse won a Championship for the Vipers, Won a Championship for the Raptors
Kinda early to judge DM on his first season with PHI but based off his tenure here versus what Stone has done in less than a few months I’m already liking Stone more than DM. DM to me was a bit overrated bc of course he made some great moves (Harden) but also made PLENTY of bad moves (Chriss, Knight, Ennis, Ennis, etc.).
Morey said himself that a good owner is an owner that gets involved when he was praising Les. Well getting involved means making decisions. For anyone living in the real world, making decisions means getting some right and getting some wrong. We know that Harden really wanted Westbrook. We know that the front office and Morey were hesitant, but not completely opposed to Westbrook otherwise they would not have been in discussions. So the final call was Tilman and he pushed the trade through which turned out to be a massive mistake. The blame is on Tilman. But also what is done is done. That's what happens when you are the owner of a $2 billion dollar enterprise and you are tasked to make the final say in major decisions, you will have to live with the consequences and move on - no one gets them all right. Now is Morey's job to clean up his boss's mess and he is very very well paid for it. What you don't do is yolo the year and bail the second things don't look good. Morey quit on the Rockets. Morey quit on Harden. Morey quit on Houston. Not only did he quit, he had one foot out the door, lied through his teeth, and bailed to another team within two weeks. And now he is trying to poach our best player to top it off. Morey is a fking snake.
LOL. It's business man. Tilman is a shitty boss and we were lucky Morey hung around as long as he did.
I didn't say Morey did anything illegal. He can be a snake all he wants but don't expect me to suck his ck for it.
OMG. MCW, Ennis, Knight, Joe Johnson, Carmelo Anthony. Keeping the awful Gerald Green through the deadline last year and then PLAYING him the whole playoffs. That’s the sum total of his team building after the Chris Paul trade.
Do you understand the words coming out my mouth? Never suggested you said Morey did anything illegal, just laughing at your "snake bit" which sounds like a scorned woman. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?
Here's something I have not seen discussed as a counterfactual: suppose he went the other way around on these two decisions. We know for a fact that a Kawhi/Lowry core can beat GSW and win a ring, because they DID. Harden/Howard, Harden/CP3, Harden/WB? Not so much... Now of course, these things involve a lot of chance: had Klay not got injured would Toronto still win? Maybe not... Here's my problem, though: the guy gets enormous credit for the Harden trade, and gets a pass and excuses for everything else (13 other teams passed on Kawhi, we were playing against the GOAT team at full strength, "hamstring away", etc.) However, we know that as good as Harden turned out to be (and don't tell me there was not a bit of a "lucky guess" as to how good he would be), you cannot say that Morey's genius in pulling-off that trade saved the franchise from irrelevance, if doing the exact opposite of the two moves above gets you a core that can get to the NBA Finals, and with some luck gets you a championship...
