I see. Then the NBA must be not care much about "tanking" then, right? Wouldn't the NBA be suspicious enough to check it out?

If anything, the point in time you are talking about was late March.

I would think that the NBA would smell out this "tanking" conspiracy of yours rather easily.

Anyways, you still don't explain how the Spurs were guaranteed the top pick by conspiring to "tank".

Let me guess, the NBA wanted the small market Spurs to land the top pick.

Or : "The Spurs, like many teams, regularly play an illegal defense, and like most teams, do not get it called on them often."

Or : "Duncan and Robinson can school you without cheating."

Especially with the strong-side illegal D exception that was new for the regular season.

cracker, you're the one that brought up those illegal defense stats. I was merely telling you what those numbers meant -- not much.

I agree completely with your last 2 posts and Pf's last post in the thread.

just because you are "known" or "suspicious" of an act, does not mean that you will be indicted of it. maybe the nba didn't suspect anything at all, who knows? i mean, i'm not really following what you're saying. are you saying that he lied to me, since the nba didn't do anything - publicly - about it??? please. and i guess jordan wasn't suspended for gambling either, right? and, i never said the lotto was rigged. nor did i say they TANKED for TIM. i said they wanted to improve through the draft. the fact that they ended up with tim was an amazing feat and the reward for the glorious tank job they did.

    there is no justice! [IMG]

Yet think of all that would have to happen for that to be pulled off.

I would think that some of the other 28 franchises would want to make sure that the injury was on the up and up, no?

Also, think about non-playoff teams that let injured players rest down the stretch...injuries that perhaps they could play through otherwise...should that be stopped?

Let's see, your franchise player, is injured. Let him rest or require him to come back too early...

    You make the call.

Anyways, why is there a draft lottery? Because of the actions of another certain NBA team in Texas.

    And that is without doubt.

-If you are trying to suggest that the Rockets tanked to get Ralph Sampson and Hakeem, that's a load of bull. The reason that team had a poor record is that the Rockets traded Moses Malone away in the 82 offseason and then had a huge void in the 83 season and lost 68 games.

-Please supply FACTS of this "there is no doubt" statement.

-By the way, I was in SA when Robinson was allegedly injured. I watched him play many rounds of golf at the Dominion. He looked fine to me. The hot rumor around town was that Popovich instructed Bob Hill to tank games, and he refused. Thus, Popovich fired Hill and promoted himself to Coach. Curiously, after Popovich became head coach Spur after Spur from Avery Johnson to Sean Elliott came up with "injury" after "injury."

The Spurs tanked. Don't try to deny it. They knew they were never gonna win jack with Robinson as the main man. When you lose 3 times out of 4 to the Grizzlies (which the Spurs did that year), you are tanking.

So the Spurs "tanked" but the Rockets obviously didn't. Riiiight.
