It was terrible. Crap cgi, none of the action scenes had any weight or impact, and the script is filled with plot holes. WW is not a cool super hero to begin with.
What I want to know is, how the hell did this movie make it past focus groups? What's painful, is that you know WW84 had a huge budget to work with, considering the success of the first one. So what do they do with that big budget? Give Cheetah terrible CGI and have the most important fight of the movie, be set at night / dusk and hold it in an electric substation next to a lake. The mall fight where she rounds up the baddies was pretty terrible too, but at least we could see what was going on.
I've never been a big GG fan but she looks gorgeous with her hair down. Pulled back, sort of an alien. Down, she looks close to Jennifer Connelly.
Just watched.. sheesh.. what happened? lol.. Patty probably wanted that box office cash because she knew she didnt make the best sequel.. Man this movie was so long for no reason. What was even the point of that armor!? I cannot believe Cheetah is WW's greatest villain.
I don't think there was a live screening. There is no way this was shown to a live audience before they released this on HBO Max. Maybe COVID got this one.
This one was more of Patty's vision, Studios gave notes, but let her take the reign more since the first one was well received. The scores still moving around: Rotten Tomatoes: 67% critics / 74% fans Meta critic: 59 of 100 / fans 4.9
Bunch of the powers are buried in the comics, they're less known. Movie didn't do much to set it up. I did like the end credit scene. Was a nice nod to a legend.
I lost it when she turned the jet invisible just because. I was disappointed when WW learned to fly (with the power of love and heartache) because the lassoing of freaking lighting as a form of transportation looked so damn cool in the trailer.
Physics? Yea, Patty threw lot of that out of the window. Even for me I was like, dang, people are not going to like this. Cinematography-wise on the flight scene, it reminded me little bit Richard Donner's classic Christopher Reeves Superman. The soft glowly lighting and the fluffy clouds. Not sure if they'll make another one, don't think this movie 'bombed' but a let down compared to the first. If they make a third, I wonder if they're going to ask Patty Jenkins back.
Not from movie; entered thread expecting to see nice pics but was disappoint. Decided not to be a hypocrite and help beautify the thread
