Inheritly this bill has to pass.

If you can't convince the Republicans to sign on for $2000. Then the $600 bill needs to pass.

No deal is not an option.
The federal eviction moratorium needs to continue.

Trump should be more transparent and say everyone should get checks for $2024

Jiggy, I am exposed also to your mainstream news, also , so relax. I find exposure to actually progressive sites also provides a better basis to evaluate things.

Universal benefits create more solidarity and ruling conservatives and fake liberals know that means testing is divisive and a great technique to allow the 1% to dominate. That is why though it drives them crazy they have not been able to get rid of social security.

Canada and Western Europe do $2000, per monthy so our ability to afford this is a false issue. Even in Alaska they give something like a couple of thousand oil dividend to all and it is quite popular. Of course for the very rich this is like tip money for the month or something similar.

lol. I read that some Dems wanted to counter with checks for $2020.

If Nancy does not wimp out Trump just handed the Dems a gift, if she blows this, there goes another big chance to take a dent out of Trumpism and could lead to a big time defeat in 2018

Sounds like an echo chamber to me. Trump isn’t being genuine, just spiteful.

I don't think he believes that Trump is doing this out of his good will. He's stating that Dems need to take advantage of Trump's rhetoric for 2000 dollars.

I mean they are.... House GOP publicly rejected it. Anyone with any sense knows it’s dead on arrival in the Senate.

The GOP is just trying to muddy the water but now claiming about all this pork.... foreign aid.... aid for the arts.... Meanwhile in the real world this was all agreed upon through weeks and more of negotiations.

This is essentially Covid plus government funding bill.

Maybe so, but McConnel and the other GOP Legislators are in a bind. The $2,000 check is an easy policy to understand and the less well off Trump voters want and need the money badly. If McConnel and gang deny this which is supported by Trump, than this may convince some of them that the GOP is not worth supporting.

Working class conservatives have needed the support for some time, why all of sudden will it be different?

The playbook conservatives are going with is austerity, aka sabotage.

He is doing it because he can brainwash some of his haters and increase his popularity with his supporters

what else is left till next month

    1.pardon many criminals
    2. Wants to give out more free money (not because people need it, but for selfish reason

he doesn’t want people to remember the terrible decisions he has made since this pandemic started.

maybe we wouldn’t have to give $2000 per person, if he made some better decisions like not saying” the virus is fake”

but of course if this does pass $2000....he will take all the credit and his fan base will ignore all the crap he has done, including the latest pardons.

    trump master of diversion

And people that don't need it are potentially just saving or investing it (I did) which doesn't even have the added benefit of putting it back into the economy.

I won't turn down a check -- but I agree they need to find a better way to target these funds and get them to the right people.

There is a difference between struggling on say $10/hr or less and going even further into poverty.
It is MUCH tougher for conservatives to make the case through their focus group tested messaging that each individual is at fault for their economic struggles during Covid. $2,000 vs $600 is very simple to understand and hard to create confusion about.

FORTUNATELY IT LOOKS LIKE W. THE SIMPLE STAND ALONE BILL PELOSI AND THE DEMS MIGHT FOR ONCE NOT DROP THE BALL.
