    A Dutch pastry. My significant other's mother immigrated to the States from the Netherlands in the 1930's, so she has a lot of relatives there. While my S.O. was growing up, an aunt who lived in Groningen sent a couple of Dutch Christmas Logs, Banketstaaf, to her mother at Christmas. It's commonly called Banket. It's a Dutch almond pastry. Very flaky, filled with an almond paste, and delicious. She's been making every Christmas for years. Yummy!
