Sadly for the Celtics, you are right.

Celts need to cash in some assets to try and win.
Kemba is a good closer, so is Tatum. Harden is the ultimate at everything else, and the perennial MVP candidate type to get them over the hump

Small price to upgrade Brown. But Ainge won't do it

100% and I’m not sure Denver would do it.
Kind of just backed into a corner.

Harden doing this now is devastating to the franchise. They should have traded him instead of CP3 if he seriously demanded a trade last year. That Russ trade rivals the Hopkins trade as all time bad.

    Woj:

-“Standoff” could continue into foreseeable future
-Rockets know to make a Harden trade, they need maximum value back
-Don’t need to rush this process
-Don’t want this cloud hanging over them; difficult situation for them to function but they know they can’t do a bad deal
-Right now, deals they see out there aren’t good enough
-Hope offers improve as teams get into the season and teams maybe overestimated the group they have; conversely teams that get off to great start like Nets may be hesitant to get serious or remain serious in talks
-Rockets know they have time but it’s not a healthy environment right now and the sooner (a trade), the better but know they have to make the right one

Rockets- porter jr, lavert, filler and 2 draft picks.

    Nets- harden, Barton

Nuggets- tucker, dinwiddie, allen, house and maybe a Brooklyn first.

Doubt denver would do this. Probably not worth mpj talent and upside but it's a no brainer for houston and Brooklyn.

Umm, I know ESPN keeps saying Harden is 32 to push a narrative but I'm going to leave this here...

Danny should grow some balls and make the move to trade Jaylen.

They have no chance as they're presently constructed to beat KD and Kyrie.

Those lineups in that tweet were built by Morey and funded by Alexander. I know you’re aware, but it’s worth noting. This franchise hasn’t done what’s needed to put itself over the hump for 25 years and running.

The Nets look absurdly good. That can only help Harden’s trade value.

This is like the 10th time he or someone has mentioned a 3rd team with the Rockets trying to find that up and coming young star.

who the f? Does he have in mind?

The Hawks and Mavs aren’t trading their guys. And the same pretty much goes for any player that would be remotely exciting.

which is how we got to weeks of discussion on Tyler Herro, lol.

Luka, Trae, Zion/Ingram, Sabonis, Bam, Tatum, Booker... most of these teams wouldn’t trade those guys straight up for Harden even if Harden committed to an extension.

    can someone please enlighten me?

draft picks from another team? Sure... but why wound a 3rd, likely meh team, give up potential high lotto picks when upcoming drafts are supposed to start getting better?

The Curry can carry a team argument is getting seriously exposed. I love it!!! It’s not that I don’t respect Curry, he’s a great player and shooter, but he relies on other star players diverting attention. Tomorrow we will see how Harden can handle having no star support, I bet he steps up and makes the others around him better.

As those guys get more chemistry and develop a proper rotation, they are going to be unstoppable.

    Until they play the Rockets;)

I’m sure that behind the scene Stone’s team is doing the basketball equivalent of:

Christian Wood is the obvious example of that type of player.

but would you trade Janes Harden for Christian Wood? Of course not.

if it’s about getting a Jaylen Brown AND a soon the be Christian Wood... I’m all for that.

Everyone uses every tool available to scout now, and when you’re limited to NBA players that’s a small set of guys and when you consider you are talking about maybe top 8 guys on every team type players that’s a couple hundred guys and when you can cross half of those off the list in the first pass through, and a bunch more as just not going to happen, who of the remaining guys are we talking about?

I am usually a Rockets only fan, but now I am watching more highlights at least among the growing list of teams rumored to be seeking Harden.

I think he means in the sense that the better the Nets look the more other teams may want to go all in on Harden.
