He reportedly has a net worth north of $500 million. I hope he gives a sizable portion of that away to the needy before or upon his death. Seems like the Christian thing to do.

It's hard to tell whether he is simply a manifestation of conservative psychosis or if he actually drove their collective brain into the ditch over the last 30 years. Probably a little of both. Him getting the medal of freedom was the biggest joke ever. Can Biden take that **** away? He should. And then give it to Michael Moore. Lulz.
I am 45 years old. He blew right as i began to be aware of conservative talk so personally it really is a chicken/egg argument. I guess there is no is no argument that he is the godfather of rightwing talk however i really don't know if he is the godfather of the politics behind it. The conservative idea of minimal government has been around since the founding of this country.
This and i also wouldn't argue that, small government is the only appeal of conservative talk radio. That being said these guys finally got their president in Trump so its fitting that Limbaugh is leaving
Rush was a talented guy and obviously very right wing. What made him so devastating in propaganda was that thanks to Bill Clinton deregulating media ownership. This allowed right wing moguls to buy up a large proportion of the AM stations around the country to put Rush and similar guys on. In many part of the country like rural Texas Rush was repeated twice per day for 6 hours and it was not just propaganda, he was urging the "ditto heads" to action. In many rural areas before the internet aside from a rural music station or two he was practically the only thing on. The right wing moguls spent a lot. but the return in the series of trillion dollar tax breaks made it a good investment. They popularized "supply side" or "trickle down"to justify the cuts, which until recently the usual suspects on this forum touted as 100% proven economic "science". In Houston his 3 hr show was on more than one station at the same time slot for awhile. He took his daily talking points from the GOP leadership and as his audience grew the GOP started taking many of their talking points from Rush. Like Fox and Trump.
Sure why would you say he isn't? I understand the criticism that they aren't about the ideas they claim but hiw has Trump increased government?
