Harden Unlikely to Play Due to violation of Covid Protocol

The rules are following the science. You can't have different sets of rules for people no matter if they've already recovered from covid or have been vaccinated. In either case, there's chance that someone can still be infected and spread it to others. Players like Harden seriously need to stop only thinking of themselves and start thinking of how their actions can adversely impact others. That's what a true leader would do...but Harden isn't a true leader.

 

Does that include behavioral science? If you tell players they can live their normal lives if they've already had COVID while those that haven't need to be on lockdown, then you incentivize players to get COVID. It's the old chicken pox parties mentality, to get the disease out of the way. Except this is a pandemic where hundreds of thousands of people are dying, so that mentality doesn't work from a public health policy.

I think the Cavs should be better than that with Drummond and Love, regardless, why should Harden turn into just Thybulle and 2nd rounders?

If you're in charge of the NBA or NBAPA, or any organization where the employees need to travel and interact with each other so closely, how do you conduct business without such rules in place? They can't remotely play basketball so safety protocols require players self-isolate while not playing. One positive player could easily infect several teams. I don't see how these rules are ridiculous. These aren't in place to be punitive to the Rockets or the players, they are in place to protect players and staff who don't want to get infected.

If you're arguing from the perspective that basketball is non-essential and the season should be canceled and therefore these rules are ridiculous then I understand. But if you're arguing from the perspective that the season should continue then these rules are an absolute necessity.
