These "10,000 dollar blitz" interruptions on 610 are really annoying.

I listen to 610 alot and I hear the talk show hosts talk about a good topic and then this stupid commercial comes on right in the middle of it. And it bothered me, but they don't bother me bad.

Until today that is, I'm listening to the Rome show today, and he's talking about the death of Pat Tillman, reseting the whole Pat Tillman story to the listeners, and we couldn't hear the whole thing because this stupid commercial abruptly came on again, right in the middle of the show. And right in the middle of the Pat Tillman part. How disrespectful is that.

I can't wait until this campaign is over. These interuptions are untimely and annoying.

I have to disagree, not everyday you get a chance to win $10,000. I understand your complaint, Jim was talking about Tillman, I thought it was kind of inappropiate myself, but that wasn't planned, that's a nationwide campaign and they have no idea what's being said when they run that promo.

Sure you do. It's called the lottery, which you have about the same chance as winning as this.

That's true, but with this I don't have to spend any money, and I listen to 610 all the time anyway.

Yeah, just messin' around. When I was working in Dallas, the radio station we listened to had a $10-50k nationwide giveaway every other hour. They'd play a movie quote and we thought you had to know the quote to have a chance. We quit calling when we found out that was just the cue to call.

Amen, I can't stand 'em either. They seem to ALWAYS jump in during good dialogue.

Sadly enough I agree with JBII in this case. I should have checked the schedule and not run that one with the Pat TIllman story being a hot topic. It was embarrassing to have than run when Jim was giving a heartfelt testimony about a guy that he knew and interviewed many times, including a powerful interview right before Tillman enlisted.

The 10K Blitz is fun and exciting. There are 40 markets doing it and the odds of winning are very good. It is, however, light and not representative of the tone of the air right now.

    Damn.

Chance, do they give you the option to run the promo even though they've advertised what hours they were going to run that. Couldn't they get in trouble if you don't run one when they've been advertising it? I really didn't think you guys had a say so in the matter.

We are mandated when they run but we are allowed to skip them. Some stations might be having benefit shows or live shows that the blitz would be inappropriate. ther eis some legal goobledy goo that we have to do but it would have been worth it for that one.

We program them to run manually a week out. I could have lifted it if I had been thinking straight.
