Miami’s package is crap. It’s a lottery ticket. It’s like the Nets trading us Kevin Durant for Christian Wood. Sure, maybe there’s a small chance one of those guys becomes a true star, but the more likely outcome is they become career role players.

Only way I'm taking a Miami package is if

    A) Philly isn't budging and giving up Simmons

    B) Miami offers literally everything.

    1. 2025/2027 FRP Unprotected.
2 Herro (if he completely peaks, he's a first option)
3 Robinson. (peak is best shooter in the NBA
    4. Precious Achiuwa (point guard who grew a center's body. peak Bam 2.0? 21 yo, could slot very nicely next to Christian Wood if he pans out).
    5. KZ Okpala (elite defensive 21 yo, 6-8, 7-2 Wingspan, peak? probably Iggy type).
    6. Whatever assets Iggy and Olynyk can get you from a third or fourth team

    That's 4 lottery tickets. 2 draft picks.
I'm assuming Iggy gets you 1 more from a playoff team. Olynyk probably gets you a heavily protected first or unprotected 2nd.
The issue with this trade is you are taking 4 players for Harden. You have to first dump Clemons into the deal to clear his salary and then you have to figure who else on the roster is the odd man out. It's probably not PJ because this team still leaves the Rockets without a starting PF.

    C) I check with Daryl one last time for Simmons.

Wall / Herro (turn him into 6 Man for now)
    Eric / McLeMore/ Brown
    Robinson/ Nwaba/ Okpala
    PJ/House/ Tate / Martin
    Wood / Cousins/ Achiuwa / Bruno

That's overstating it severely. Christian Wood has never done anything remotely close to what Herro did in his Rookie year (at 20!).

Im looking at these sub reddits for the trade destinations and believe or not the Warriors Sub reddit were the only ones where I didnt find people who werent complete morons and who were not completely disrespectful to Harden. If their fans are too dumb to see how good James is...LOL.

Almost any player is capable of looking like a star for a few weeks, like Herro did in the playoffs. Hell, Jeremy Lin looked like a superstar briefly in New York.

I watched Herro in the Playoffs, and I’m not convinced he possesses any one elite skill, other than he hit some clutch 3s in the bubble. Will he still look like a superstar in front of 20,000 hostile fans, when the opponents’ defense actually starts taking him seriously? He is a good raw talent who seems to think he is better than he is. We saw how that played out with Chandler Parsons.

They got to know him very well in those 4 year playoff battles, besides the Rockets and their fans they are probably the closest that truly know his worth and value.

Harden and the Rockets were literally the only team that consistently threatened their dynasty. Cavs got them once and I’m not counting that Raptors win against a shell of the Warriors team. Warriors fans should have a healthy respect for Harden.

Part of the reason why I don’t get the disrespect nationally for Harden and the Rockets during his era. Nobody was doing any better against the Warriors.

Brown is nice. I’d be ok with getting him as a main piece in a Harden deal.

I watched 4 years of Grayson Allen at Duke, and Herro is more like a billionaire’s Grayson Allen.

    Good question.

Perhaps it is a sly response to an inner conflict within the organization of the Sixers about acquiring Harden. Morey being for it, others being against it. Perhaps ownership?

    (got nothing, in other words)

In order to inflame the situation further. Even if he can't get Harden right now, he might go after him later.
