uggggggggh, i really just dont want this trade to happen bro.
He's in fine shape. People are just meming, they dont know what they are talking about. He looks to be in fine shape. He wants to win, exactly if you want him to believe he can win here, play some games and lets show him how good we can be.

I'm not talking about his play under Dantoni. Outside of everything he's done under Dantoni.

Harden is an idiot for that deal. That's true. So is trash Tillman.

But right here......Cp3 didnt have a problem until he couldnt be who he usually is. He's not playin differently on OKC. And I dont see him getting a lot of assists to Shai or Schroder either. They dont pass the ball alot and they iso a lot too.

    That is messed up.

I think it would be hilarious if Houston pulled the ol' bait n switch. They use Harden for bait to piss off those teams star players. Then we ship them John Wall with a beard super glued to his face! Bwuahhahahah!

I don't think CP3 had a "problem" here. I mean sure it was a bit different for him not being the alpha, etc., but my understanding is CP3 would have been VERY HAPPY to play out his deal in Houston. After all, he got REALLY close.

But to expect him to do so, without saying, "hey, james, move without the ****ing ball! and do better on defense" is unrealistic and frankly, not what i wanted from him anyway.

    IMO
    1) Philly package (deal built around Ben Simmons)
    2) Boston package (deal built around Jaylen Brown)
    3) Raptors package ( deal built around Pascal)

You root against him while he's on the Rockets, so your last sentence should be a given...

    Agreed

Im just saying, Harden's defense has been pretty good for awhile now. Or at the very least for at least 3 years, its no something teams can take heavy advantage of. Harden def has problem taking critcism but the off ball stuff is something I cant get behind because I dont see a scenario in which Harden off ball would win us any of the series we lost. We lost to the Warriors a second time because of defense imo.

i root for the Rockets, not players.

if a player is on the Rockets I root for them to do well, as that’s how the Rockets do well.

basketball is a team sport. If I wanted to root solely for individuals I’d be a much bigger fan of golf or tennis. Or bowling lol.

outside of miami or brooklyn hardens supposed desired teams have the same shot as houston. Beat spurs by 30 in a preseason game w/o Wall and Cousins, beat bulls by 30 w/o harden. Team clicking better than last years for sure

    3) Siakim
    4) Boston as a last resort

I think his defense is still a liability and is part of the reason they went to switch everything because he couldn’t/can’t stay in front of people on the perimeter.

And the offensive efficient always goes way down in the playoffs.

you either have to have an offense that is unguardable in the playoffs or be able to play more than one style situationally. Same on defense. You need to be able to adjust styles situationally.

so when the idea is for Harden to move more off the ball it doesn’t mean turn into the Warriors. It means wrinkles.

To me that’s part of the reason CP3 worked. He added offensive wrinkles. A mod range game. A dribble penetration that kept the dribble alive to continue a play. Etc.

EVERY year, without fail, MDA mentioned he was adding wrinkles in the off-season. Every year without fail that didn’t happen.

part of the reason I was so excited about this years roster, if healthy, is because Wood (and Cousins) by their nature add some variety without forcing Harden to move off the ball. In post ups. In bigs that can shoot the three or mid range or drive. Even with Clint the PnR with him was also going to be the same. Wood can roll, pop and hit, pop and drive, fade and hit a mid range, post up, yada yada

He's not playing switch everything in this pre season and its still looking fine. We werent switching everything in 2014-2015 either and we still had a top 10 defense. So I'm struggling to see how this is true. Chris Paul even went on a podcast and said that's the reason they switch everything. That was the only way to match up with the Warriors, its also just a really good defensive scheme. We were top 10 in defense again last season.

Most top level offenses go down facing top level defenses. That's how it is most of the time.

How did that work out for Boston and Toronto? You and I both know its about talent more than anything else. And we've never lost to a team that's had similar talent or ones that was below us. Also Harden is a smart player, he can play in different defensive schemes.

Again, offense wasnt the problem against the Warriors. Cp3 doesnt run any of these "wrinkles" in OKC and he certainly didnt do that in his series against us. He was just better. They were 3rd in ISOs last year at OKC.

Probably. Cp3 is also just a really good player who can fit in with any team. Cp3 is also one of the best mid range shooters of all time. So its an efficient shot for him.

Agreed on this last paragraph. Versatility is nice, Im not sure its end all be all, but I'd like to see how it works out here.

This could make sense if they're waiting to announce the deal since Achiuwa can't be traded for some days, but i don't know, is it unusual to sell shoes of a player of other teams?

I personally think the heat package is garbage, I find Herro to be very overrated. He is the farthest from a allstar - superstar than the rest of the players in the table.

I certainly hope they get Precious if they take the Heat package, but I think Adidas is just selling shoes.
