Houston: Norman Powell, Miles Turner, Victor Oladipo

    Indy: James Harden

    Toronto: PJ Tucker

I would think we have to send one of the three draft picks we get from

Switching gears with some unrealistic hope.

What can we trade House, Clemons and all of our picks for to get an upgrade at SF? I think we can trade up to 4 picks.

    OG Anunoby?

Here is the best offer I think we could make for OG Anunoby.

    House
    Clemons
Houston 2021 1st (less favorable of OKC, MIA or HOU)
    Portland 2021 1st (lottery protected)
    Detroit 2021 1st (top 16 protected)
    Washington 2023 1st (lottery protected)

All of the Portland, Detroit and Washington picks have loooong duration protections, making them more likely to convey as 1st round picks rather than converted 2nds.

I’m not suggesting we trade all of these picks for OG, only that they are available, and I believe he is the only SF that would be an upgrade to House and has a low enough salary to be traded for without PJ or Gordon.

    Wall / Gordon
    Harden / McLemore
    Anunoby / Nwaba
    Tucker / Tate
    Wood / Cousins

I'd still rather trade for Aaron Gordon.

The question is do we trade Wall or EGo?

Both will require FRP but both Wall and EGo have built up some value from preseason.

    Wall trade options:
*Both options may require up to 3 FRP (or more) to move Wall to Bulls and SRP to move Clemons to Kings.

CHI: John Wall + 3 FRP
    ORL: Buddy Hield
SAC: Otto Porter Jr., Danuel House, Chris Clemons + SRP
HOU: Aaron Gordon, Zach Lavine, Khem Birch, Robert Woodward

    EGo/Lavine/Brown
    Harden/McLemore
    Tucker/Nwaba/Green
    AG/Tate/Woodward
    Wood/Cousins/Bruno/Birch

    EGo trade:
*May take up to 2 FRP to move to another team like Kings or Hornets as well as SRP to move Clemons.

    ORL: Buddy Hield
SAC: Eric Gordon, Danuel House, Khem Birch, Chris Clemons + 2 FRP + SRP
    HOU: Aaron Gordon, Robert Woodward

    Wall/Brown/Brodric
    Harden/McLemore
    Tucker/Nwaba/Green
    AG/Tate/Woodward
    Wood/Cousins/Bruno

i think you can make reasonable arguments either way. One reason I like OG is that he works with either Harden or Simmons, whereas Aaron Gordon works better with Harden and Lavine works better with Simmons.

Hes just 23, and an excellent defender. Hit 39% from 3 last year. 68% at the rim. Very athletic. He’s a great fit to add defense next to Harden.

If we were to pull off this trade, the sum total of our offseason trades look like this:

    Westbrook
    Covington
    House

    For

    Wall
    Wood
    Anunoby

Considerably younger, and better fits for our needs. If this won’t convince Harden to stay, nothing will.

House, Clemons and 2 FRPs for Anunoby

    Wall / Gordon
    Harden / Brown
    Anunoby / McLemore
    Tucker / Tate
    Wood / Cousins

Bench: Green, Nwaba, Caboclo, KJ Martin

    2 Way: Thomas, Jones

That looks like a championship roster to me.

Needs some height / length (TWSS)

Get Wade (CLE) - tall, shoots 3, rebounds, tries at defense, on cheap contract for 2 more years (IIRC)... ship Clemons & SRP to CLE

That lineup would be pretty long.

    Wall - 6’9”
    Harden - 6’11”
    Anunoby - 7’2”
    Tucker - 6’10”
    Wood - 7’3”

    Brown - 6’10”
    McLemore - 6’8”
    Gordon - 6’9”
    Tate - 6’8”
    Cousins - 7’6”

No shorties in any of that.

Amended trade based on board input.

Hou out: Harden, Gordon and Tucker
Hou in: Simmons, Thybulle, Korkmaz, Reed, Scott (salary purposes only), Barnes and Woodard + Philly's FRP in '21 & '23 and SRPs from Philly (NYK) and Sac (Mem) in '21

Philly out: Simmons, Thybulle, Korkmaz, Reed, Green & Scott + FRP in '21 & '23 and '21 SRP (Knicks)
Philly in: Harden, Gordon and Tucker

Sac out: Barnes and Woodard + Memphis' SRP
Sac in: Danny Green and Mike Scott (both expirings)

***Trigger cant be pulled on the Sac part of the trade until 12/27 due to Green being recently acquired by Philly***

This deal makes the Rockets younger and longer and much more versatile defensively. After this season the front office would likely have 3 first rounders to add to a team that is already 2 deep at every position (except PG). Additionally, the rockets save several million this season and moving forward their books are pretty clean to continue building around Simmons.

Chicago would ask for 1 or even 2 of the Philly FRPs, they won’t trade Lavine for EG + 1 pick. In fact, I don’t see why they would trade him at all; he is a good player at a fair contract at the right age, fits with the rest of their team.

Simmons plus Lavine is a pretty good haul for Harden, I’d be very happy with that. These 2, plus Wood turning into a lower-tier all-star, plus another all-star acquired by trading Wall in the summer of 2022, would make us contenders in 2023.

yes this is basically my thinking. Lavine for Ego, Maxey and a 1st seems reasonable if Chicago is on board. He may lineup with their timeline, but they simply lack the talent to compete for championships. Lavine is not the best player on a championship team...he’s like a 3rd or 4th guy.

I agree that we stick with Wall for 2 years. Either he reestablishes himself as an all star or we trade him as an expiring with picks for a star.

Minor trade, “breaking” EG into 2 pieces to add some bench depth.

    HOU in: Bjelica, Lamb
    IND in: EG
SAC in: McDermott, 2 second round picks (1 from HOU, 1 from IND)

The reason Rockets have so many athletic 6'5 players is because these players have the best triple threat skills to maximize 5 Out offense AND also switch everything on defense.

Adding one dimensional 3ball shooters or players that can defend but not shoot is not going to help us at all.

Players who fit Rockets profile are not cheap, especially if those players have length (+7'0 wingspan) and height (6'7 or taller).

    6'7 Larry Nance Jr 7'1 WS - 2 AST, 7 REB, 32% 3P
    6'8 Aaron Gordon 7'0 WS - 3 AST, 7 REB, 32% 3P
    6'10 Domantas Sabonis 6'11 WS - 3 AST, 8 REB, 32% 3P

    Bruno - 7'7
    Brodric - 6'11

    I'm on the OG train.

Especially because Raptors are waffling on extending him, they have a cap hold of 11.6M for next season that they are reluctant to go over.

Masai Ujiri's extension is creating greater anxiety in Toronto.

6'7 OG Anunoby - 7'2 wingspan, built like linebacker, 38% 3P last season.

TOR: Danuel House, Chris Clemons + FRP + SRP
    HOU: OG Anunoby

This is why I've been so hot for Matisse Thybulle.

Not a starter yet but he is ready to breakout.

Does Eric Gordon still have negative trade value?
