Powell might be one of the more underrated players in the league. His numbers in 26 games as a starter are pretty special. 18.7 points in 31.1 minutes on 65% TS% as opposed to 58.8 TS% off the bench. Rarely are someone's splits as a starter that much better than off the bench. Pretty interesting how that happened. I am all on board this trade but not sure Toronto should do it although I think it is a good trade for both teams. Don't see Toronto really competing though even with Harden.

Wait, harden's issued an "it's either him or me" edict regarding wall?! I thought it was just the new owner he hated.

 

OG is expiring, and looking at what Jerami Grant got, and seeing teams with cap next off season going into a FA pool that is weaker then expected due to the opt ins. I don't see it. Siakam/Powell would make just as much as Harden, we'd still have Wall, we'd still have Gordon... Tilman is not going into LT to pay OG 4/90 with a team that is at best a late playoff seed and first round exit.


ALL that being said, I could see us doing a deal without OG, instead add more picks.

Not understanding the Toronto angle. For us Siakim and Wood are redundant even if Wood stays at C. Maybe it could work out but you already have a similar guy.

For the Raptors you add Harden to Lowry and VanFleet so someone is going to the bench and you’ve opened up holes at 3/4. I guess Harden can play SF in that lineup? Kyle and Fred are only about 6’.

 

I think Siakam and Wood are both versatile bigs that can play inside and out. Why wouldn't they be able to play together?

If Harden was a smart person, he'd want to take that extension and stick around to play next to Wood and have the best chance at winning.....but if he was a smart person, he wouldn't have forced the Rockets to trade for Westbrook.

The current team has more upside than any team since CP3's first season with the Rockets yet Harden still wants a team to gut themselves in order to trade for him not realizing that they won't be as competitive as his current team would be. That's really been the biggest problem with Harden, he's supremely talented on the court, but he's kind of dumb when it comes to everything else.

It'll be pretty funny if Harden is traded and the team he goes to ends up with a lesser record than the Rockets this season.
