It’s over no matter how much ass kissing the Rockets do to convince him otherwise its over the guy wants out. It’s an unofficial divorce right now waiting to be officially granted via trade
True. I get it. We are all hurt and upset. I love James Harden. I have always defended him against all media and fan scrutiny. Just looking at some of the old and new reporting that’s been out besides the partying including old stories of what happened to CP3. If true much of what’s gone wrong can be attributed to him as the root cause. Then again these reports are always 50% true but regardless he had something to do with the culture that was established here. Maybe he isn’t that guy leading us to the promise land. Maybe his legacy will be like those before him—the Barkley’s and Malones. It’s time to bid farewell. Start anew.
I'm not hurt or upset. I am annoyed. I am annoyed by the reporting and the reaction around this story. The timely pieces written to dump on a player (and an organization) in the midst of an already chaotic situation is unfortunate. They see a burning building and throw more wood in it. We'll probably never know what is true and what is biased opinion. I can't start James' partying but its not new. Him being late for practice is also a bad look. That's on him. But all the other stuff is just he-said she-said. Maybe what I'm about to say is IDIOT but it will be nice to go through the time-line someone like Lebron went through. His first go-around with Cleveland, he couldn't win it all. He was getting coaches fired and sub-tweeting teammates. He tried to make it work in Cleveland but it just wasn't working. The Lebron-hate was at an all-time high when he left for a chance to go win a championship; jersey-burning and all that. He realized he needed more help in order to win it all. Apparently he betrayed his hometown and made a mockery of it with the ridiculous pep-rally introduction. Then he won with a stacked team, and then the hate started to subside. He won some more and came back home; he eventually become loved and now we're (not all of us) calling him the GOAT. Harden is at a crossroads; he is going to be getting dumped on until he starts winning championships. If we're all honest, we'll admit his chances aren't that high with this Rockets team. I mean look around the league at what other "sidekicks" the top players have. AD, PG, Kyrie are all better than Wall. Lebron tried to get more help, lobbying and demanding for trades. Some good decisions some bad decisions. Same with Harden. We all know the Westbrook trade was a mistake. But he is using his power as a super-star to create a team to win it all. I think that is a mistake but it is what the league is doing. IMO I think GMs should stop making moves that players want. If you're the GM, you should be responsible and accountable for moves being made. Maybe he leaves, maybe he stays. He'll be fine, we'll be fine.
Lebron James ushered in the player empowerment paradigm. I have no objections to this as it combats the notion that NBA players should just “shut up and dribble”. Every move is a calculated business move or one that benefits the player on the court. Just like any team in sports or the corporate world you know what other members are capable of and you know who you have chemistry with and can accomplish great things with. No different here and hence players have empowered themselves to have a say in personnel decisions. It’s natural that the organization caters to its stars since the supply of high level talent is low and demand high. Now does it need to be an overall team decision in terms of personnel moves? Sure. And I have no reason to believe these decisions aren’t discussed or planned with the management team along with coaches. Again nothing wrong with more empowered players being a part of the decision making process. Now if the team culture sets different ground rules for non stars and stars e.g. timeliness, trips on off days etc then this is an internal issue that needs to be resolved since it can lead to resentment and mutiny.
I am not sure if Harden cares about losing fans right now. I know I am not too concerned about avatar changes away from Harden. What I am concerned about is avatar changes away from spalding @Os Trigonum
You did it wrong. The thread title should have been, "Alkaholic James Harden Avatar Appreciation Thread"
Well don't bother changing to a Wall avatar because I'm sure he'll be gone next off-season once we raised his trade value.
You take the left one and make a bow, then take the right one and make a bow. Now that you have two bows loop one around the other and pull tight!
