I will revisit if or when reality of Harden trade materializes. I would move Wall at the same time if possible. Wasting time playing Wall and Simmons IMO. And I would not move PJ just yet, save him for trade deadline for FRP. Rather move House and Clemons first in Harden deal. And I need Matisse Thybulle also in return. But Harden is still here so next move has to make sure Rockets can further weaponize team as well as incentivize Harden to stay IMO. One more big move with EGo + all new FRP.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and 0.0 apg. Siakim and OG get you the 30ppg with much better defense. OG could be the next Kawhi or another Iggy. It's a roll of the dice for sure but Siakim is a bonafide allstar now at least. Trade works but not sure Toronto pull the trigger. https://tradenba.com/trades/T6OZ7KjdU
As constructed this team is nowhere contender status. We need more help at the three spot, no backup PG depth and if cousins or Woods go down the depth upfront is terrible.

Wiggins cannot shoot he is a slasher. In the offense we need shooter like Tucker, house and Gordon. Especially when or if harden leave. Nobody wants Wiggins....Golden State do not want him. We need to move Tucker for a 1round pick and try to get Aaron Gordon....but Orlando will not budge.
Don't really want to trade Harden, but if we do how about this. Good young players and lots of number 1 draft picks. https://tradenba.com/trades/bbLyliusV
Aaron Gordon is the upgrade Rockets need. *3rd best playmaker on team immediately - no backup PG needed *Small ball 5 *Starter at 4 *Improves Iso/Switch Defense; defends 1-5 *Fits Silas criteria for every player to be a triple threat *Improves rebounding *Improves pace - AG and Wall would destroy teams in transition *Improves finishing at rim *Adds another elite lob threat/roller option for Harden *Adds more size (6'8 with 7'0 wingspan) Wall/Brown Harden/McLemore Tucker/Nwaba/Green AG/Tate Wood/Cousins/Bruno That is a contending starting 5 with some of the best depth Rockets have ever had around Harden. Rockets should have 2 of the 3 (Harden, Wall, AG) on floor running team at all times. Elite 2 man games: Harden-Wood Wall-Cousins Harden-AG Wall-AG AG-Wood AG-Cousins Harden-Cousins
Heat would have 2 point centers in Bam and Simmons. Not sure they do this but trade is at least equitable. Less so for Rockets IMO.
https://tradenba.com/trades/BNezAW9dL Hou out: James, Gordon & Tucker Hou in: Simmons, Thybulle, Milton and Scott from Phi and Harrison Barnes from Sac (Danny Green routed from Phi to Sac) along with picks Why Houston does it: Wall-Thybulle-Barnes-Simmons-Wood with Milton-McLemore-House and Cousins makes the playoffs so this season isnt a waste. But it does so at a lower cost and much less drama for TF. That team is also younger and longer than the current one and surrounds Simmons with shooters who are all average or better from distance. And the Rockets walk into the 2021 draft (which looks really good) with 3 first round picks to either accentuate the team or to be packaged for a lottery pick or another foundational piece. Finally, the decks are cleared after the 23/24 season (except for Simmons and KJ Martin) to completely remake the team. Right around the time the likes of KAT or Devin Booker are scheduled to hit the market. I will put a link to further discussion in the building around Simmons thread in a little bit. Why Philly does it: Harden obviously is an enormous improvement to their offense and EG makes up for much of what they give up in Milton and Thybulle. Go ahead and slot PJ in at the 4 next to Embid and, I think, its pretty obvious who the favorite is coming out of the east for the next few seasons. Their FRPs will not be outside of the back end of the draft and Morey has never been one to build through the draft anyway so the picks are moot. This is Philly going all in and it probably gets them multiple finals appearances and a title. Why Sacramento does it: Harrison Barnes is a good role player. He will get you 15 points a game efficiently. However, he gets paid like a guy who does more than that and Sacramento is likely trying to get out from under his contract. Sending them Danny Green provides similar on court production for less money and 2 fewer years on his deal. Sacramento surrenders a second round pick to get out of those 2 years.
Why not send Scott to Kings too? Rather have Paul Reed or Justin Anderson from Philly over Mike Scott. Scott is not 3ball shooter or switch everything defender, Rockets need bigs with that skillset. In any event, do not see Harden trade this season.
Might be time to think about this trade after all. I'm still optimistic but reality can be a b****. @finsraider @treyk3 @jch1911 @ApacheWarrior @ilias
I don't want Lavine. I want Wall/Milton/Brown Eric/McLeMore/Green Thybulle/House/Nwaba Simmons/Tate/KJ Martin Wood/Cousins/Bruno start with those 15. Let Eric build up his value and use him to get an elite shooter like Buddy Hield closer to the deadline. We will get 2 or more FRP from Philly and we already have 3 new FRP. That's a huge war chest to build a young team.
Need to trade Wall soon too. And I'd prefer EGo gone too but I can see building up his value first. Hope it happens. But I prefer Lavine over Hield on this team, bigger better athlete and 3ball shooter. But Hield not bad fit either.
An idea i noted months ago.... instead of LaVine... how about Coby White? Harden, House, Clemons for White, Lauri, Otto Porter, 3 first round picks rockets won’t be good but betting on upside and replenishing draft picks.
Set up Simmons = a taller Westbrook (Simmons has better shot selection over WB) Westbrook scored 27 points a game at 34% (USG%) last season with Houston. Simmons USG% was 21% with Philly last season, 16 points a game. Body Because Embiid huge USG% and heavy minutes on the court, Simmons was used poorly. I can see Simmons in the Silas offense setting screens and rolling or hovering behind the rim along the baseline. USG% going from the 21% with 76ers to 28% with Houston. Scoring at least 24 points a game. John Wall has averaged 19 points a game at 36 minutes a game for most of his career from day one. I can see J Wall getting 17 points a game on 27 minutes a game in this Silas system. Cousins can get us 16 points on 24 minutes. C Wood, hopefully 18 points on 29 minutes in a Silas offense. Like Simmons setting screens and rolling to rim, P n Pop, lurking behind the rim on the baseline. He averaged 13 points in 21 minutes a game with Pistons last season. So stretching his minutes to 29 minutes may be the tough thing about this projection. Summary Guessing Harden trade brings us more than just Simmons as far as players goes. Hopefully bring up the value of a trade of Eric Gordon and Wall by the trade deadline because Wall-Simmons is too much likeness in game. Of the two I would rather keep the younger taller version in Simmons. He offers some, running start from mid court, you need to build a wall of defenders at the free throw line, just like they do with Giannis attack. Our surrounding shooters should do well in that format. Add Tucker to the list of tradable assets at the deadline if he is still unhappy.
