Reindeer? Elves? What do yall eat for meat?

Other than fish, which is also delicious.

East Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia are truly awesome places imo.

It's like America's goldilocks zone for both topography and climate.

Just a little bit of everything.

Most of Michigan is a **** hole... there are so really nice areas In the Detroit suburbs and Upper Peninsula.

Wisconsin is beautiful, maybe in the ghetto of Racine or the middle of nowhere you could get a home for 100K but not elsewhere.

Michigan is pretty overall. The problem is there is ZERO work outside of the Detroit suburbs. A lot of people buy homes in parts of Michigan and only spend summers there. The winters are harsh.

Wisconsin is just an incredibly beautiful state with huge limestone quarries, lots of sweeping valleys and hills. It is an abundant state and the areas around Madison and Lake Geneva are about as nice as any in the country. The Fall and Summer are amazing but the winters are harsh.

You can likely get some farm land in northern Wisconsin comparatively cheap. A lot of wealthy folks are buying up the area for excellent hunting but some land is still there.

For my money Northern suburbs of Chicago are about as good as you are going to get from an educational, progressive, economic and beauty stand point but the price index is high but worth it.

What are the Northern suburbs now? They were Evanston 25 years ago.

Agreed on Wisconsin, btw, that and Minnesota are indeed an outdoorsman's paradise.

I think that video might be from a couple of years ago but yes stuff like that happens.

As someone who lives in a place that is insanely cold I can’t say you ever get used to it but you adapt.

Also talking about how hardy you are and mocking other places for freaking out when it drops below freezing helps.

    Plus staying inside and drinking..

Ironically I’ve heard many Minnesotans say they don’t get how people can live in Houston with the heat, humidity and hurricanes so c’est la vie

One thing I will say in Texas' favor is that you can wake up in the morning and it's ok, then you go outside and do stuff for a few hours until it gets hotter than hell, then you go inside and chill, then you can go back outside an hour or so before dark and do more stuff, and you can do stuff after dark too. [this does not necessarily apply in the swamps of Houston]

Whereas in the north it's: Wake up? frozen. Lunchtime? frozen. Evening? frozen. Nighttime? frozen.
