LOL, this culture thing you are talking about doesnt necessarily get you wins and this is not what has stopped us from winning a championship. You arent talking about basketball. You are talking about narratives which feed into you story book ideal of what a team should look like.
Ariza also wanted to get paid....please with this stuff. Which is what he really wanted. But guess who didnt want to pay him.
Jimmy wants him In Miami... not In Houston. Miami they have a completely different culture from Houston. Which is why is why he signed with them instead of us in the first place. this should be obvious...
Superstars so that means CP3 as well right? What did Ego, Rivers and House say about the culture? Why did Rivers sign for near the minimum to come back and play here if the culture was so bad?
Ok I see I need to stop replying to you because you make no sense. You think Harden will change just because he is in Miami? Do they brain wash? What's obvious is that you don't have a clue.
Yeah, They offered Harden a 2-years $103 million extension to change the culture? That confirms bad behavior, it doesn't change it. They wanted to change the culture after he asked out. Sounds like Morey is playing chess my friend. Low ball offer is incoming. If they wanted to change the culture, they should have had him on the block before he asked out.
Believe what you want. I was in the same boat as you a week ago, as I've said. But I've learned where there is smoke, there is usually fire, and in this instance, it's not like this is coming from some obscure isolated report. It's becoming the consensus. "Trade CP3 for Westbrook or trade me'. MDA: 'hey James, so glad you decided to show up for film, we've only all been waiting here for 30 minutes, only the third time this week but NO WORRIES at all, traffic in this city is crazy! (OH GOD PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME)". Do you think this is the kind of team players want to be a part of?
When kids get trapped and have no logic they attack the messenger, this is like arguing with a bunch of ignorant Trumpers. I am certain they offered it and let him know what the new culture was going to be......you can't deny his talent, but sometimes tough love is just what a guy needs. DD
It’s a lot of bull **** IMO The culture was “terrible” yet James Harden was able to become the best rocket ever not named Hakeem. His teams were the best the did not include Hakeem. They routinely got beat in the playoffs by an all time great team. They were an injury away from a ring. I thoroughly enjoyed the Harden tenure here. and let’s not pretend that the elites of any profession don’t do the exact same thing. Every decent attorney I know or went to law school with are the absolute biggest partiers I know. You work hard, you play hard. Nothing wrong with that if you are getting results and James has gotten everything except a ring . Dude plays every single night and improves his game every single year. it’s ending in a shitty way and harden could be more mature about this but I appreciate what we got from him
Yea, its all coming out AFTER he decided to ask for a trade hmmmm....wonder why. I mean both Wall and Boogie want him to be here? Also did you not see what Kawhi and PG are doing in LA. ALL superstars are treated this way.
I said HOUSTON’s culture. As in the team/franchise. Harden is just the monster that Houston created specifically MDA and Morey. You’re being obtuse and dense. Me mentioning Jimmy Butler and Anthony Davis in my original was an analogy in the first place. but how they handle things in Miami... their culture is common NBA knowledge. look into it
Nobody cares about the Spurs right now. They’re not relevant. They won’t make the playoffs and they don’t have anything to look forward to. They don’t have a shot at winning. Nobody cared about the Celtics prior to Tatum and brown bringing them back to life. Nobody cared about the heat til this past season with butler post lebron. Nobody gave a damn about the lakers post Kobe when they sucked for years. Lebron goes their and made them relevant again.
It was probably the same as it has always been, and always will be as long as Riley and Spo are there. There's a reason Miami is a destination team, and the location is only part of the equation. Yes. You're making my point for me. Butler wants to show up with a serious face on every day, ready to compete. The TWolves did not. Look at how they play. You can tell they aren't serious about winning. That's why Jimmy went to Miami. Read his interviews; he was tired of dudes half assing practice (just like Westbrook mentioned about Houston, lazy practices and no rules). So, yes, there was a culture issue. Same thing they did to get LMA and Gay, I'd say. Except Kawhi wanted los Angeles. Short of moving the team... not sure what else you'd expect them to do. The Jets suck because they don't develop talent. So whatever they're doing there is not what Miami, Seattle, LA, or Pitt is doing (not enough workouts, not enough film, maybe they let guys take days off, or sleepwalk through drills). I worked at Lids for several years (yes, the hat place). It was almost like a frat house; Microsoft-esque. I played ping pong on work hours, had margaritas at lunch. I now work for the government. Those things don't fly. Because there is a different culture involved. Its not some big mystery. Its a known commodity.
I don't get why the Rockets FO wants to smear Harden. That definitely lowers his trade value. What usually happens is that dirty laundry is out AFTER the guy has been traded. ... unless, of course, Tilman is really that dumb. I wouldn't put it beyond him.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...ing Patrick Beverley,A-1 superstar in Leonard. Yup, and it sounds like the Clippers also had horrible chemistry and most of the players didn't like playing there either. Hence the mass exodus this off-season. They are not exactly a great example of what success looks like either. Why would Wall and Boogie not want him to be here? He is still one of the best players in the league. Who do you think is leaking all of this stuff? Tillman? With the goal of tanking Harden's trade value just to save a bit of face from posters on the online message board? Tillman isn't close to even Bill O'Brien infamy in this city, he doesn't care what hardcore Rockets fans say about him on the internet.
He played with Hall of fame Chris Paul 2 times against GSW. First time he losed him for 2 games but team was in striking range and James disappeared in 4th. The second year KD went out instead of CP and Steph just murdered Harden. I mean this was just one great topping another. I can't imagine Kobe, Wade, Kareem, Jordan etc loosing these series. So while James is obviously top player all time, he isn't in the highest echelon and seems he will be remembered like that. Those were the times where top10-20 player of all time does something impossible for mortals and just takes it.
You'll get good value for him either way. They have two years left on the deal and they know that. Tillman most likely doenst want to be seen as the bad guy here. He'a already had a ton of negative press. Look at how fast the Silas hiring was announced as soon as Morey signed his deal with Philly.
