maybe trade clemons along with the draft rights of one of those euros we acquired from the knicks, and some cash? Wait, not sure if we have any cash left we used it to "buy" a second round pick...
what are you guys speculating about lol. Why would they cut green a fan favorite? That’s one of the main reasons they brought him back.
PJ is a guy that can make an impact on a high caliber contender. He is one of those guys that could be the difference in the series doing anything to win. That’s why they couldn’t include him in a deal for Jimmy Butler couple years ago. But I understand management’s hesitation in giving him anything more than 1 year. he might be looking at a 3 year deal.
They need to figure this out GG is not just symbolic of Houston he shoots the heck out of the basketball
With the Rockets hard-capped, removing most options, and the injury to second-year guard Chris Clemons guaranteeing his contract, the Rockets plan to carry 14 players plus two two-way players on their opening night roster. The Rockets are open to bringing back Green during the season if other roster moves make it possible, the individual with knowledge of the team’s thinking said. In addition to the move with Green, the Rockets will convert rookie Brodric Thomas’ contract to a two-way contract and waive second-year center Trey Mourning and second-year forward William McDowell-White on waivers, the individual familiar with the team’s thinking said. McDowell-White, who came off the bench for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ G League affiliate, last season, was signed to a two-way contract on Friday and Mourning was signed on Thursday. Guard Mason Jones, an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas, was signed to a two-way contract after the draft. Players on two-way contracts with the G League affiliates are permitted to be available to play in 50 of the NBA season’s 72 regular-season games.
Stupid. I'm wondering if there was a way for us to have avoided the hard cap. The cynical side of me thinks it was done on purpose to have a built in excuse to save money.
He will be back as soon as Harden is traded or the dust settles and Harden commits. This is just a move to hedge a bit. If they were sure they were going to keep Harden, they wouldn't have cut Green now. They would have traded Clemons with a SRP to clear cap space for Green to stay. If I had to guess, Green will clear waivers and will stay in Houston ready for when the dust settles, maybe even on the staff for now.
Why were we even playing Clemons? He should have been cut already! Gerald is a good player off the bench too. ****ing Tilman, can't even get NG contracts right.
