I remember a few years ago, Morey made a comment to the media that really stuck with me: He alluded to being GM in name only and the players calling the shots. Most everyone wrote this off as a classic Daryl joke, but in hindsight it appears he was being much more candid than anyone knew. I wish I could find the exact quote, but it was very telling. This would have been back during the Howard/CP3 years.
It is Stone's Job and Tillman's job to repair this relationship! If they are smart they repair this relationship before things get worse! It can only get worse!
Or the GM actually meets face to face with company's most valuable asset instead? Morey, and most GM's worth their salt, would have flown to wherever their star player was at to put their mind at ease and ensure there was confidence in new regime going forward.
Harden needs to use all of this, recommit himself to get into supreme physical shape and make all these folks eat crow. This could make or break someone and hopefully it will make him.
Stone not speaking to Harden is absolute MADNESS! Morey leaving absolutely had an effect on Harden. Just like @Nook said.
I don't understand why Stone would not talk to Harden. I wish they would of asked, has Stone attempted to call you? Do you want to talk to Stone? It makes no sense to me.
Brian T Smith is such a b****. But he is less assertive/abrasive in person than he is online, for sure. All his stuttering and stumbling was revealing. MacMahon trying to be an alpha, laughable. He was a puppy dog when he was in Dallas. Harden was more professional and composed than the media. Fascinating.
How does not adding good players to your team when there are opportunities to do so only to save money not matter? Role-players often decide series. We're constantly not using trade exceptions, not expanding trades when there are chances to do so that would net us rotational players, and sending out first-round picks just to dump salaries. All we are left with the ability to do is chase vet minimum guys and hope they pan out. Fortunately, they often do playing next to James, but we have certainly allowed some opportunities pass us by. These other teams that are winning championships are spending money and going into the tax year after year and recent history would suggest this is mandatory to put a championship level team on the court.
That is an ignorant and out to lunch take as I've ever seen. If Stone really think like this, then it is not a culture issue it's a mismanagement issue.
Harden was effusive in his praise for coach Silas in terms of *communicating.* Harden ALSO said he has not talked to Rockets GM Stone. Quite a contrast in those two.
