Having read this I feel a lot better once we do find a deal that makes sense to move James. Say what you want about Tildo on the money front but hopefully this brings about a culture shift within the organization itself.

As long as the Fertitta family leaves the basketball decisions to Stone/Witus/Silas and they can create an environment where Ops, coaches and players can express opinions and ideas the Rockets success will come.

I liked a lot of what Daryl did here BUT, ultimately from a financial perspective it ended up straining his relationship with now owner Tilman. Just because owners are billionaires you cannot expect them just to throw money at it all the time unless you are Jerry Jones who just doesn't give a fudge.

It will be up to Stone to keep the team flexible and competitive. Even with TIldo's businesses getting hit hard by COVID I do think if major opportunities to improve the team where available he would go into the luxury tax to do so. Again would have to be something major.

Apologies for the rant. all that said, back to the top, I am good with moving on from James when the time is right.

People who are surprised that a franchise player has power just aren't paying attention. It's been that way for the longest time. This is no different. He wasn't the first and he won't be the last for any organization that has the privilege of having someone they can call their franchise player

You’d think they’d wait until after he was traded to start the smear campaign and release all the hit pieces. That would be the smart thing to do.

All the way back to the 80's man with the NBA. Magic Johnson fired his coach, partied like demon (with the owner) and etc. Those Magic Johnson partying (with multiple women that wasn't his wife) stories were legendary. Worthy getting arrested for prostitution solicitation on a road trip. These cats retired Lakers. Granted the Lakers won but these cats weren't choir boys. Kareem was a disciplined muslim and they painted him as a grumpy old malcontent who was bringing the team down.

Would be great is Silas benches him for disciplinary reasons but plays him for 1 minute to tank his stats.

It is his other little brother. He will later come on and write an apology letter again.

I find it hilarious and ironic that Harden is being defended more in regards to the motive, intention, and validity of the sources around this article on a national basketball forum by fans of other teams than on this one. So much talk here about lack of loyalty on his part the past couple of weeks. Hypocritical when you completely trash dude and denounce him so quickly and easily, especially when you don't know both sides of the story.

I too am a Rockets fan first, so when he is traded I won't shed any tears, but I will root for him still and I wish him all the best unless he is playing against Houston.

    Mac:

What he wants is to dictate the terms of him being traded. That’s not something the Rockets are willing to do. ... What the Rockets are going through is a cultural reckoning, cultural transformation after 8 years of empowering, enabling James Harden. This team is preparing for the next phase. Harden is miserable and it’s a messy situation.

    Who is to blame?

Let’s go ahead and make some more people mad at me here [:D]. The Rockets are trying to transform their culture, change that. People with the Rockets now have told me “we’re all complicit”. Daryl Morey was absolutely the ringleader. He thought when you get a player of Harden’s caliber, it’s good business to keep him happy. Mike D’Antoni was a great coach from an Xs and Os standpoint but D’Antoni will be the first to admit he’s not exactly known as a disciplinarian. When you talk about the AAU style culture a former assistant talked about, D’Antoni has a role in that.

Rafael Stone & Stephen Silas are trying to change the culture but they’re not gonna be able to create the culture they want until Harden is gone but they will not take 60 cents on the dollar for him.

This actually makes sense to me. Not sure if it’s real or not but it makes sense.

This is the result of Tilman having MacMahon as a mouthpiece now and Harden not having an agent lol (and not caring about what people say/think about him, while Tilman cares greatly.)

    "Whatever James wants"

Apparently James hated lux tax and, despite being a contending team, preferred ditching assets to avoid it every year.

I can't recall a player as talented in their respective sport and yet as disrespected as James Harden.

    It's fascinating.

Man I’m wired that everything has to be like clockwork. I wake up certain time, go to gym at the same time, in my office for work at the same time and home at the same time. Be it my military background or whatever I would lose it if I’m late for something or something is late period.

the ironic thing is the second he is moved to a likely contender and pushes them to be one of the favorites, the tune with change instantly. The same ones tearing him down are going to be the first ones praising him. It's what gets attention for one of the faces of the league
