Is Yao Ming’ psychological well-being affected by recent vicissitudes in his personal life. I don’t know but I remembered reading “Jason Kidd's normally stellar rating had taken an abrupt nosedive. It later came out the All-Star guard had been involved in a domestic altercation with his wife.” (4/20/04)

I’m not interested in Yao Ming’s private life, but he is also a public figure.

Ye Li, Yao Ming’s girl friend, was surprised to learn she was recommended by CBA to join WNBA draft.

Houston drafted two centers but missed Ye Li.

Ye Li was disappointed to learn she and other two players were not picked by WNBA because of some technical problems.

The game on Friday will be a psychological battle.

Why is it a psychological battle? Because Rockets is one of the teams that Lakers is afraid psychologically. Rockets is a match to Lakers in talents, skills, and speed (Rockets is not noted for its speed, Lakers neither). On the other hand, Lakers is Rockets’ psychological enemy too. When two parties are matches to each other, and the side that is courageous will win.

That is the reason Rockets fans CAN help to bring victory to their team.

There are two recent examples that fans made their team win.

1), on 4/7, my family was at the game when Heat played Celtics. The first three quarters was basically a seesaw game, but in the last quarter Celtics played better and better and we almost certain that the game would end with Celtics winning. But, in the nick of time, here come the Heat announcer and audience, echoing each other. The arena was rolling with thunder booms to cheer Heat players, and we even felt the vibrations. It was a tremendous experience! Heat won in the end. Are people living closer to the equator more vehement?

2), our game 1 against Lakers. Till the end of third quarter, the game was dull for Lakers, its audience was dull too, not happy with Shaq’s performance. But that three-pointer ball from a Lakers bench started the fire of the audience, and in turn motivated and mobilized Lakers players, changed the momentum of the game and of course sealed our fate too.

I apologize to start this thread but couldn’t be Houston to watch this game. But I do hope our fans shout, yell, and roar for our team. Show our team they have our support, and show Yao Ming, he has friends, thousands and thousands of them!!!

Make more noises fans, our team needs noises. Win this psychological battle.
