Can't say he's honestly ever been super comfortable with the media anyway. I mean 90% of the coverage of him is unmitigated hate and misinformation so not participating isn't the worst thing. Just please, please show up for the Houston Rockets.
If he honestly asked for a trade because he only "wants to win" then he can say that and boone would blame him at all. It would be so simple, so obviously that's not the case and his camp put that out there to save face. I'm starting to believe the stories of him just wanting to be babied. Harden has certainly earned his money. He will talk to the media when he is ready. He will be fined and pay his fines. I promise you this was not unexpected. James has never liked the media.

I hear you and agree he probably needs to speak in some manner at some point, hence my softball interview idea. The main thing is that I don't think having him answer the same questions night after night from the media really helps anything and if he has to do that there's a decent chance he's going to slip up at some point.
I don't understand the point of talking to the media in the first place. The media just distorts information and try to create drama. Even when they don't, it's just the same boring questions and answers.
With Antetokounmpo off the market for several years, Harden's value has gone up tremendously. The Rockets cannot rush a decision that will mark the fate of the franchise for the next decade despite James continuing to do his best to ruin his own image.
