A big 3 consisting of Wall who hasn’t played in 2 years and Boogie who won’t even be starting?

    that is a Big 1.75

Philly swapping Simmons and spare parts for Harden is a contender, people need to stop

Harden, Embiid, Harris, and shooters is contending...the only argument for that not contending is if we just assume that Embiid will definitely get injured and miss the playoffs

Kerr and Nurse's rosters at the time were incomparable to Silas' roster now. Lue lucked out to one of the biggest choke jobs in history, and he had the greatest of all time and two all star partners playing out of their minds.

    Woj:

Why did he decide to join the team?

First, professionally. It’s basketball season. It’s the right thing to do. At his core, he loves to play. This is a guy who doesn’t want nights off, plays a lot of minutes during the year. And financially the cost of staying away would be significant. He’s come into camp with the Rockets with an understanding with management/ownership, he’ll be a good partner with them, he’ll be a professional. If he wants that trade, and he does very much, what Harden has to do is not become a distressed asset for the Rockets, make it hard for them to get full market value. He’s there, he’s reported for work and one thing about Harden, when the ball goes up, he plays.

Where do you see things going between now and the start of the season?

He’s going to continue to push them to get a trade done. Brooklyn and Philadelphia are at the top of his list. The Rockets GM Rafael Stone has talked with teams and he’s given a very good sense around the league of what it’s going to take to get him. There’s not a lot of contending teams, the kind of places that Harden would want to stay long term at who would want to trade for him that have the assets. Philadelphia does. A package built around Ben Simmons ultimately might be able to get it done but they’re nowhere on that. Same with Brooklyn, who’d need to go find a young player from a third team to satisfy Houston. These talks can be funny. They can all the sudden start up quickly, get moving when a team decides it wants to do a deal but right now the Rockets are in no rush. They’ll play John Wall and Harden together. Harden has made it clear: nothing against John Wall, he’s ready to move on and wants a fresh start elsewhere.

Yep it will help hardens value when he drops few 45-10-10 games then his value rises and he gets to a new destination

Not sure why you choose to quote me on that part. The first part of my quote was about the fact that Rockets fans that want to win want Harden back.

As for the second part all I said was Harden is doing what the overwhelming majority of superstar players do.

What I don't get is why the report about Harden not happy with the Silas selection. That seemed like a great hire. Also, Harden must really just not like Fertitta

I don't believe it's anything personal against the team or coach, it all has to do with Tilman and also Harden getting tired of repeating the cycle with the Rockets. I mean, let's be real, even us at Clutchfans realize this may not be a championship roster since we have no clue how Wall and Cousins will hold up over the course of a season. It could be a very, very, very good roster, but reality is that the last time Boogie played, he only lasted less than 1/3 of a season playing on the rehabbed achilles before his quad went out, then he tore his ACL later. We are going to rely on 3 players being in our rotation with major leg injuries and it is a huge possibility that none of them make it through the entire season. IF WE, looking from the outside can make this determination and understand that our chances hinge on the health of major contributors (not to mention, will they even be the same all season), then what do you think James is thinking?

The majority also hate Tilman as an owner and can likely relate to not wanting to do anything with Tilman.

It’s like that? Not sure what more you can ask for. He missed the start of camp to be at his friends birthday party and has been on COVID protocol. He started practicing right after that and said he will play right away and not cause any problems.

He wants out. The people he was close with in Houston all wanted out of the Rockets organization and almost all of them are gone.

It sounds like Harden is done with the Rockets. The WOJ comments were not biased and straight forward.

The biggest issue is that the market for Harden is 4-5 teams and none of them are willing to match the Rockets price. I doubt the Rockets ever get the amount they are asking for. Eventually the Sixers will have to trade Simmons if they are serious about Harden.

My guess is Harden is moved for Simmons and filler and maybe a #1 pick. The Rockets will likely slow walk it and see what happens. The problem is that Harden will be asking every week or more often about the status of a trade.

I am sure the Sixers are trying to find a way to get enough assets together to pitch to the Rockets and not including Simmons. I cannot see them pulling that off though.

Agreed. Unless the Rockets only care about draft picks, why the hell would anybody help the Sixers out to help them land James Harden, unless that team was also compensated well.

Harden will not be traded this year further more deflating his value . After this season rockets will have no other choice but to salvage whatever they can get for James . This team is a 6-8 seed at best if everything goes good . Cold hard truth hurts and thus is the future of the mighty mighty rockets.

The report that Harden does not like Silas is media BS.

Silas stated multiple times that Harden recommended him for the Rockets HC position.

Woj is really really pushing for this Harden trade. Woj is Morey's mouthpiece. Stone knows this and so does everyone in the league. Whatever sources Woj cites, just assume its Morey speaking then it all makes sense.

Stone went out and got Wood, Wall, Boogie. 3 significant upgrades. The supporting cast around him is better. If it was a situation where he didn't believe the roster was championship caliber, Stone would have packaged up those 3 picks and Gordon/House and made one more significant upgrade. Leaving future picks out there that can be cashed in tells us its not about the quality of the roster. He was on board with the Silas hire. Only reason left he wants to be traded has to be Fertitta.

What's the difference, Houston leveraged their future might as well go all in - assuming tilman can get some more loans and pay some luxury tax. It's not like there's a player being offered so far that is even close to James Harden. Trade deadline/next season it won't matter. With Harden they have a shot, without him... Rebuild
