Because unfortunately from the Rockets' perspective, you don't have good, young, productive wing players on really reasonable contracts just growing on trees. The second House was made available in a fire sale, you'd have 29 teams lining up for his services.

Beal didnt take that next step till around 2015 and even then the Wiz made the playoffs 4 out of 5 seasons since 2014. They made it past the 1st round in 3 out of those 4 playoffs and lost in the 2nd round each of those times. Anyways just trying to say that it is tough to compare since Wall as the #1 guy or at least 1A is obviously not good enough but he would have several other offensive players here to pick up the slack in EGo/Cousins/Wood/House/Green/Bmac. If Harden does play for this roster then Wall would clearly be the no. 2 behind Harden and would welcome that with open arms since it is James Harden and not his “little brother” Beal.

Wall mentioning that he never played with a stretch 5 is intriguing because we have several of them now and would have to think that both he, Harden and Gordon are excited to see how many open looks in the lane they can get as well as open looks for their teammates all capable of hitting a 3.

Hell they even had beloved Rockets starters/critical rotation players in Dwight, Ariza, Nene, Austin Rivers, Jeff Green, Danuel House and Sam Dekker.

Harden would have won multiple championships with the same talent that Wall and Beal had around them.
