Ok, I'll stop my bashing of SF. I'll wait until the series end to see if he get the Rockets past the Lakers. So many believers in SF....well, we'll see.
I hate Steve Franics as a basketball player, I hate his street ball style and playing like a moron most of time, in the first falf of game 1 he still played like a moron. But I can't deny he played well for the rest of these two game, played mostly under control, with better decision making and most importantly, he played with great hustle and courage. I want him be traded ASAP, but if he can play this kind of basketball consistently, then I will say you won't get anyone in return who is better than him.
Jeff you got to look at this way, After being league for 5 years along with a max contract they expect more. Yao still has a lot to learn. Earlier in Francis career they was saying give him time. Now they expect results.
This is a BS article written by a BS writer. It seems that somehow the Houston media is coordinating some effort to drive SF3 out of town. Well, good luck, guys. Yao will follow suits in 2 years.
nWo, at least Uprising came up with a creative way to insult you. Saying stuff like that is just not nessesary. Kids read this board to you know.
Being the heart of the team doesn't mean he can't be traded, Payton was the heart of Sonics and he still traded to Bucks. So did Ray Allen, Stephon Marbury and Jason Kidds (PHX).... need more examples? Believe me, if Rox still stays mediocre years after years, nobody is untradable. Yao's turn will come after Steve francis, if he gets Max contract but he and Rox still underachieve.
I just don't see the Rockets trade Francis away this Summer, unless something really attractive comes along. Think about it this way, the team just signed him to max contract TWO YEARS ago, now they lost confidence in him already? Francis didn't make much progress over that last two years, but he didn't regress much either, namely, he is almost the same player. So if the owner thought he was worth the max contract then, surely he thinks the same way about him now. I think the team will be about the same with some role player changes for the next season. If it won't work out next year, you have to question JVG's coaching ability more than Francis compatibility.
Wow, the Steve bashing reached all time high after he just played his best game of the season. This is unbeliveable.
That's the point nWo ... Steve can play the best basketball of anyone in the playoffs and it doesnt mean the Rockets are going to win. If the Lakers non-stars are hitting their open shots, while their superstars play to the level they are capable of, then the bottom line is that they are a better team as much as I hate to admit it. It is not a coincidence that the Lakers won 3 in a row. Everyone on the Rox needs to play their best ball AND have a few things come out just right for the Rox to come back in this series. Win or Lose it's not all SF3. This is a young team that is still in learning mode right now, and SF3 is a part of that.
for some reason this post of urs sort of means there's no point in reading other posts u posted..... got to agree with GB_Rocket..... nWo is a kid himself
It's really unbelievable that after a player gets a triple-double in his first playoff series, 4th player in franchise history to do it, that he is still getting all the blame for losing. Our starting front-line combined for 6 F#@%ING Rebounds, excuse my language, but that is ridiculous. We play in the West, known for its strength, speed, and big players (literally). And our frontcourt combines for 6 rebounds? Our smallest player on the court rebounded more than doubled Yao's and quadrupled Cato's rebounds. I'm tired of hearing excuses, because that only means one thing, WE LOST. This was a dumb article and Lopez should have written about how the ENTIRE TEAM needs to play flawless. The margin of error for this team is minimal, whether its Steve, Yao, or Weatherspoon. Everyone deserves blame, not just the guy who got the triple-double.
Stupidest. Post. Ever. And from a very fickle poster, too (moreso than a lot of other people around here). Weren't you just Supporting Steve in another thread you made? I think it's totally unfair how everyone points to that one play with Steve going 1 on 1 with Kobe as justification that his entire game was crap. He plays brilliantly for almost every other possession, and people point the blame at him for one bad (not even THAT bad, he got a fairly good look) play. The commendations this article gives is right. The rest is bull. Francis DID cut his TOs, get a triple double, shoot very well, play D, and for the love of god, he got more assists than FG attempts.
