The Heat’s end game is irrelevant. If Riley wants to get a deal done, then offer a trade that attempts to meet the other team’s asking price. They want what the Rockets have more than the Rockets want anything they are offering. Otherwise, Stone would call Riley and offer a trade for Harden.

Trade negotiations are about meeting the asking price for the asset you are trying to acquire. Offering a deal without Bam or Herro for a perennial MVP-caliber player in James Harden is a waste of everyone’s time. Either **** or get off the pot.

I like Herro quite a bit, but he has not shown enough to headline a James Harden trade, yet. Since Miami won’t/can’t offer Bam right now, the Rockets should look elsewhere.

Can bucks give both Jru and Middleton for Harden + something?

I like what MIA could offer; at least a Bam or Herro. You're getting James f'n Harden for pete's sake.

This isn't close to a playoff team. Not only is there a lack of ball handlers, but there's no perimeter shooting besides Harden. Also, Harden would be forced to guard perimeter players.

7 unprotected 1st round picks and a top 20 player. Otherwise, **** off everyone.

people need to stop mentioning Milwaukee...they have nothing to offer...nothing at all

if Harden is traded to Milwaukee, then an investigation needs to be opened into possible extortion

Agreed. The Rockets would be idiots to trade a 31-year-old, MVP-caliber player for a package headlined by a 29-year-old whose ceiling is the third-best player on a championship team.

You're telling me it wouldn't be perfect? Well, no **** lol, they could make other moves or take back House, McLemore etc if they want more shooters, they just drafted a PG, they could keep Lonzo if they want one, etc...was just throwing it out there. Also lol at that team not being close to making the playoffs.

There is no chance of Milwaukee. Unless they get a third team with the right assets it’s not happening

Lol @ list - he doesn't have a no-trade clause... Just wait until he gets moved to a place he doesn't like and doesn't show up for the physical. This'll really blow up his brand.

I also understand it helps the Rockets for future FAs showing they tried to work with Harden, but when Harden is pulling the stuff he is, I don't think it's going to hurt the Rockets much trading him to whoever is in the best interests for the Rockets. Remember that houston leveraged everything for him.

it’s starting to get annoying...they really think we should consider exchanging wagyu beef for an expired lunchable

the way people were trying to hype up what BK was offering was so pathetic...Woj out here calling Levert and Dinwiddie borderline All-Stars ...they are insulting our intelligence

Yeah, I honestly hope Stone holds firm, because there's not much to lose until you get something good in the trade.

At this point, the Rockets need to hold Harden until teams get serious with their offers. Unless a young player like Jamal Murray, Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, Bam Adebayo or Pascal Siakam (or a Porter Jr and Herro package) are coming back in the trade, the deal isn’t worth considering with Harden having two years left on his contract.

Yes, I am not fond of this trade but as Nook mentioned we would have $35 mil in expiring contracts so that may be what is appealing to Tilman/Stone. Hero is only 20 and under a small contract as well as the other pieces in the trade. IMO, you would get Nunn + Robinson + Precious back in the deal. 3 assets that can either be flipped for picks, etc. or kept on cheap contracts. Still don't think this is near enough for Harden but don't know what other offers are being made.

I still prefer to get back the proven talent of Ben Simmons, as well as Thybulle + Milton + 2 or 3 1st round picks. That is a much better offer but we would not have as much cap flexibility but would still be competitive and a solid playoff team if most of the roster remains healthy.
