Please tell me you are joking. Which two of those players are worse defenders than James Harden? EG, PJ, Roco, Rivers? Wasnt it by design to let anything happen but put Harden on perimeter because all he can do is defend post and with that variable whole team had to play small ball so he can guard power forwards resulting in very poor interior d which killed us in playoffs?
What if its not though? Think about it, all the people close to the Rockets are saying "Oh no, Morey was always gonna quit, James Harden is a bad man who wouldnt sign, so Daryl quit on the Rockets." Harden(while wrong) may genuinely believe that Lue is better. If you are trying to win a chip do you really think a rookie head coach is gonna do it for you?

Also Anthony Davis was hitting tough mid range fall aways over James, thats what you want. EG is good on one one but he's a horrid team defender. Opposite for Roco(but hes really an amazing team defender. All in all PJ, Roco and then Harden for this playoffs. Go look at the film, and go look at the stats.

Actually, it seems as if CF only wants to believe the bad reports. Those they take as gospel without even questioning them. This thread makes me realize why so many of this board's best posters no longer participate.
Diminishing the player Harden because you are upset is dumb. He IS that great a basketball player. Also there is a lot of speculation going on. Yes Harden and Westbrook wanted Lue. Also Lue is a highly sought after coach. The Lakers wanted him last year. The Clippers wanted him this year. The Rockets had a chance to sign him and didn’t. Ownership choose to go another direction. I think Lue is a very good coach, the Cavs don’t win the title without the adjustments made by Lue. However he also showed weaknesses in organization as a head coach. Lue is certainly more highly thought of than Silas, there is nothing odd about the players wanting Lue. Stephen Silas may not have been a hot commodity but he is very experienced and well thought of. He also has been a strong leader with the Rockets so far. A lot of fans will point at Harden and say he needs humbling. Well what do you think happens in the NBA? The commissioner and owners have given a group of 5-10 players in the world unrivaled power. They control when and where they are traded. They decide coaches, who is signed and even sometimes which teammates get paid. The problem ISN’T the obnoxious players like LBJ or Harden or Leonard or AD or soon to be Giannis. The problem is the owners and commissioner that allowed it to get to this point. Now Harden has every right to not like that his coach is gone, his GM is gone, that his owner won’t spend the tax and he even has the right to ask for a trade. He can even go public with his trade demands. However he isn’t handling this right and he isn’t doing any favors to his teammates or himself. Short of him winning a title, he is not going to look good coming out of this. Right now the Rockets organization are circling the wagons and doing the same thing they did when Paul left, when MDA left, when Morey and Westbrook left. They are leaking half truths to make the owner look good. The truth is there is plenty of blame to go around. I have no idea what will happen. We know Morey would love to have Harden. We also know if the relationship can be repaired, that is what the Rockets want. No player is bigger than the organization. However there are some serious dysfunction with the Rockets that need to be addressed. Harden also needs to suck up his bruised pride and objectively realize no one out there has a better chance of winning than the Rockets. My concern is that he is too stubborn to do it. Harden and Tilman need to sit alone in a room and talk it out. If Harden gives Silas a shot, he may find he likes him a lot. Also the league REALLY needs to do something about the level of power they have given a small group of players.
