It's no coincidence that our owner gets along very well with a certain individual with a ton of power in this country that also seems to have the same type of organizational issues.
Harden is closer to Iverson than Jordan but let's be fair to Harden. Harden and CP3 would easily go to the finals in that Eastern Conference.
You really think Silas wouldn’t? Right now the Rockets organization is letting him do whatever he wants. He wanted Lue for the same reason Westbrook did, Lue has won a title and they think he is the better coach.
Silas was the right hire, even if it was as a 'compromise' or whatever. He's proving it too. The players are buying into him (the ones who weren't already unhappy anyway), and he's saying all the right things.
Ty lue is a big players coach that doesn’t do much of anything on the court. He would let harden be the focal point and coach similar to how Lebron was. If they think he’s a better coach, which they might—-it’s why I think it’s great we have front officers separated to GM, head coach etc positions. Players want ultimate freedom, coaches want now moves, and GMs evaluate the now and the future
I doubt it. I'm assuming Lue would probably more open to staying with the same exact offense that Harden wants and is used to which is slow pace, iso switching offense. Silas might be a little more creative and want to do some different things and I'm assuming that probably scares Harden as he's been so used to playing one way for multiple seasons now. Also, any coach can win a ring with prime Lebron. I'm sure Lebron praises Lue because Lebron doesn't usually throw people under the bus, but I see absolutely nothing in Lue. And he seems like someone who is soft-spoken and easily talked over.
So is that the reason he's quitting on the team? Because he didn't get the coach he wanted? Sheeeesh.
I definitely didn’t want Ty Lue. I watched LeBron and Kyrie run all over him. He would not have held Harden accountable. Silas resume alone should be enough for Harden to give him his proper respect.
At the introductory press conference Silas said he isn’t going to change how Harden plays or what he does. If Harden is on the Rockets he will have free reign to do whatever he wants like virtually every other superstar. The best bet is to convince him it’s in his best interest to make some tweaks to his game and the system.
From what I've seen of Silas, I really like the guy. I think he was the perfect fit and brings a young, energetic & honest energy to the team. He also seems very organized & detailed in how he wants to play. I think Tilman was right on picking him
These players aren’t very smart, and it’s established how selfish harden really is. Morey was a genius but he created a giant diva
I wanted Silas last time before they hired MDA. this time I was secretly hoping that Tim Duncan would be interested but if not Silas or a Silas type. and so far super excited about him.
Great... so if Harden got his way - that woulda been another bonehead move he'd be leaving us with... smh...
Man, Silas is our coach. I hate these stories. He didn’t do anything to deserve this. Also, he’s about to prove he’s the better coach.
So, I’m wondering why Tilman didn’t want Lue, and why Harden didn’t want Van Gundy. If all it would have taken to make Harden happy is to hire Lue, then that’s what Tilman probably should have done. I don’t have any strong objections to Lue. I guess Tilman thought Harden was okay with Silas. I get the feeling that Tilman may not have good people skills.
I know harden is the best player on the team but there are 9 other guys on the team you have to consider of as well. At some point one guys feeling can’t override the entire franchise future. Lue was made on Lebron greatness.Without Lebron he got fired from the Cavs the next season. Silas was a better choice. My ideal was JVG to come in and start establishing boundaries a culture of accountability but I m seeing lots of positive stuff in Silas.
