Wow, I was still holding hope defending him. Guess this a wrap. Tell him to take his restaurant with him.

Now the 76ers are in the list. I expect Morey to get this done very very quickly before our game Friday. Morey will be very agressive

How stupid can he be. No one is going to his restaurant if he leaves Houston.

That's just spite. Stone needs to send him where - and only where - the Rockets benefit most.

    Quitting seems to come naturally.

Unfortunately this isn’t even remotely close with Harden locked in. Playoffs will be a stretch with him not locked in.

I’m trying to figure this out.

    Westbrook and Covington

    for

    Wall and Wood

    (And Demarcus Cousins)

Where do you see the drop off to “not even remotely close”?

    Harden/Gordon/Ryno was a 2 seed...

I actually feel for Stone. The dude has probably been waiting his whole life for this opportunity, and when he finally gets it, its this ****ing **** show. If he makes the wrong move his career could be over just when it was getting started.

I know we could feel the same for Silas, but i dont think his position is as bad as Stone's. Yes, it is definitely not the same being hired to coach a team with two superstars and possible title contender, then a team with injured former all-stars and on the brink of a forced rebuild. However, he is not to blame for any of this mess so his job should not be at risk in any shape or form, and even if it all falls apart he still seems like a good coach for a rebuild that could develop something good from scratch.

Silas could very well be with the Rockets for a long time and eventually be successful. Stone on the other hand could be gone pretty quickly if he botches the Harden situation.

I wonder if Miami and Boston would tango on this one:

    Houston
    • Trades
      • James Harden
    • Receives
      • Jaylen Brown
      • Tyler Herro
      • Kelly Olynik
      • 2 FRPs from Boston's stash that have the greatest potential for being high lottery picks
    Boston
    • Trades
      • Jaylen Brown
      • Marcus Smart
      • 2 FRPs from their stash greatest potential for being high lotto picks
    • Receives
      • James Harden
    Miami
    • Trades
      • Tyler Herro
      • Kelly Olynik
    • Receives
      • Marcus Smart
The way I see it, Boston would change the formula after falling short year after year. Miami, well they are on a short time window of contention and although it hurts to lose Tyler Herro, Marcus Smart is a great haul for a team that is in contention. Rockets end up with two young talents plus proper draft compensation. I know Miami values Tyler Herro quite a bit, but him and Adebayo are not going to be future contenders. Their chance is now, Riley is likely going to retire soon, why not get stronger with Smart this season.

The only remotely interesting trades are the ones with the Sixers and the Pelicans, where Harden will never agree to go. I can’t see the Rockets trading him inside the division, anyway. Boston and Toronto would be possibilities if they are willing to part with Jaylen Brown and Pascal Siakam, respectively.

Miami would never help an Eastern Conference team get James Harden, nor would they trade Tyler Herro for Marcus Smart.

I don’t consider Wood an upgrade over what Covington brought. Westbrook for Wall is a wash for me. Plus what are the odds Wall can actually stay healthy? Same with Cousins. Plus James and PJ even if they play won’t be 100% locked in they are unhappy that will affect your game.

We finished what 2-3 games from the 7th seed last year? All of the players in the West got better this year. Did Houston make enough moves to compete with that? I don’t think so. I wouldn’t call Houston a contender.

don't worry, with his contract and injury history and the lack of picks, I doubt they'll be able to trade Wall anyways :)
