Its been so long since a player actually held out that I think NBA teams forgot you can fine them for not showing up.
I was there with you until yesterday Lets wait and see , if he shows up / plays. Then his mother is on social media .... I think that confirmed that he doesn't want to be here. Then he hasn't showed up .... Where there's smoke there's fire and this thing is a blazing inferno.
I come from a family that had teachers, shoe makers and Electrical construction workers. I can not support someone not showing up for work, If you don't like something at your work, you put your balls as your bow tie and you go and fix it as a true man or you live with it and move forward. But you don't disappear and fail the people and organizations around you. Those things are not negotiable and have nothing to with your salary. Disposable income is still too new in my family for me to respect a move like this one. I'm ready to root for players that actually want to be here. And I hope the organizations can find the courage it was missing for the last few years and make decisions on their own.
Woj just posted that he's open to a trade to the 76ers. His mom is a terrible agent. He should fire her and hire someone with any ability to handle this stuff.
I'll need Harden to speak/explain first. He is under contract. He hasn't shown up. Houston actually has some really good players and is making moves. Tillman sucks, and I dont know if something happened that I am unaware of, but at the moment I am leaning towards No on this poll, but can't make it solid without more info.
It's the other way around. Dwight's averages dropped in 2015 and 2016 while Harden's increased or stayed the same. Harden was the better 4th quarter player in 2015 and 2016, more so than Dwight was in 2014.
James Harden Playoff averages: 2014: 27.2 - 7.5 - 5.7 2015: 26.6 - 7.6 - 5.2 2016: 28.5 - 8.5 - 5.5 James Harden Regular Season averages: 2014: 27.4 - 7 - 5.7 2015: 29 - 7.5 - 6.1 2016: 29.1 - 11.2 - 8.1 He did better in 2014 but only SLIGHTLY. And these are averages. The problem with Harden is he disappeared at the most crucial moments -- mostly because we overused him for minutes 1-40 or so. We all remember the Spurs series. We all remember the GSW series with all the turnovers. And what did we do the next year? The same ****. Run Harden till he's dead tired at the end of games because our coach didn't have the balls to rest him or tell him "no." You have to manage these players, for the most part all they want to do is play and be THE GUY. It should have been MDA's responsibility to tell him, no, we need you to be better at the end of games so we are going to have to use you less in early minutes. Develop THE TEAM. Instead, they put it all on Harden and we should have all known that was never going to work out.
I don't think either of those options describes where I am at. I get what Harden is doing - and Tilman really screwed up here. But I think Harden is making a mistake not playing. The Rockets are going to trade him by virtue of the fact he doesn't want to be here and thus won't resign. There's no need to force their hand. Rockets know they have to trade him this year to get maximum value.
I think I'm still in denial mode. In the beginning when those rumors of Harden wanting out surfaced, I thought it was just Harden putting pressure on management to improve the team. Now i don't know. Maybe he really wants out and that makes me sad
I don't love it as a Rockets fan but I get it on a human level. You work at your job for years. You love your job. You love the people you work with. You love the company culture. Then the owner sells the company. The new owner is a douche lord. One by one your superiors abandon ship. Now the people you love are gone. The culture you loved is gone. And hell yes I'm sending my resume out to other companies.
IDK, should we support someone who makes our city look wimpy and easily pushed to the side and ignored??
When is he gonna report to camp? The morning of opening day? That’s not a good look or message to send to the team. That’s selfish aSf!! He doesn’t want to be in Houston. His momma and his bf “lil baby” got in his head... Westbrook probably got in his head as well. If he truly wanted to be playing for HOU, he would have reported by now
I can support the right of any player to ask for a trade and even to hold out. As long as they also accept the repercussions and consequences of doing so. What harden is doing is on a different level. He is actively flouting not only nba covid rules, but societal covid rules. Aside from giving the finger to his fans/teammates and team, he's saying FU to every person that's been affected by the pandemic with his actions.
As long as Harden is a Rocket I will ride for him. As soon as he isn't, it's hate watch [insert year].
