I have not paid attention much to other teams. Hell the Rockets for that matter. But OKC has 13 first round picks over the next 5 years? I can't remember the last time the Rockets had a first round pick.

Yes, OKC has 13 first round draft picks over the next 5 years and that doesn't even count that OKC can flip draft picks with the Rockets and the Clippers if they choose to.

From my perspective, if the Rockets fail to get Harden to report and play, they need to start shrewdly trading players for draft picks and take back some bad salaries for other picks. As it is, there is no way the Rockets can compete post Harden against a team like OKC with so many draft picks without the Rockets gaining their own picks.

Man that Westbrook trade was a total disaster for our franchise.

@Clutch Ask Clutch how he feels about it.....

It did incredible harm..... the Thunder so far have turned Westbrook into 4-5 #1 draft picks

The Westbrook trade was essentially their revenge for the Harden trade.

Exactly what all has Tilman done to cause turmoil?

He listened to his star and got him his buddy Westbrook? Wasn't Harden a part of that move?

He didn't call MDA fast enough after they lost in the Bubble so MDA sulked like a 10 year old?

    He voted for Trump?

He won't commit to spending every possible dime every single year, like almost every single other owner in this league?

    What am I missing?

That third one is an unforgivable crime in the eyes of certain less than stable people. I have a feeling that's where a lot of the Fertitta hate comes from, the rest comes from his personality which can be very off-putting.

After seeing what Stone and Eli did to get Wood, I wouldn’t be surprised If we did. I also wouldn’t be surprised If it is easier for us to make deals since other teams don’t have to worry about slippery Daryl screwing them over than posting about it on social media. :D

The outlook is already grim with Harden. Imagine if we downgrade from Harden to either of those two players.

With Harden, we'd have a fighting chance at HCA. Without Harden, I think we'd struggle to even make the playoffs.

He gave up draft assets and good young talent to get under the tax.

Last year we could have had let’s say Danilo Gallinari included in the OKC deal, but Tilman didn’t want to pay the tax.

Not spending the MLE to upgrade.

    Etc...

I don’t think it’s so grim. I’m excited for this year and think we have some immense talent and the makings of an elite coach.

Okay, and how often does that happen in this league? How often does a star player NOT get the absolute best next to him due to finances? It happens to about 28 or 29 of the 30 teams. Not everyone is Steve Balmer. If they don't see a ring ahead of them (which last year I saw as a zero chance opportunity, except maybe once the Bubble began because it's so different), why would you spend extra money?

This is pouting. This is James Harden saying, you bought me a Lexus, I wanted a Mercedes. He's behaving like a petulant child, imo.

outside of a few top prospects, draft picks are a pure crapshoot...

but they may consolidate many of those pix into Eddie Griffin...
