OK GUYS IM NEW HERE. SO TAKE IT EASY ITS MY FIRST POST.
AS MUCH AS I WANT TO SEE C-WEBB COME TO HOUSTON IT WOANT HAPPEN. PLUS I DONT WANT THE ROCKETS SPENDING ALL THERE CAP MONEY ON JUST HIM. NOW I DONT WANT TO SEE OLAJUWON BACK EITHER UNLESS ITS FOR CHEAP. BUT I WONDER IF YOU GUYS WOULD TRADE MAYBE 2 OF OUR 3 PICKS PLUS SOMEONE LIKE THOMAS IN ORDER TO HAVE BRAND HERE. WE ALSO NEED TO RE-SIGN TAYLOR, NORRIS FOR SURE. I THINK WE SHOULD GET HORRY BACK HERE ALSO BECAUSE HE HAS EXPERENCE IN PLAYOFFS AND HE IS A GOOD BACK UP JUST LIKE BULLARD. WE NEED TO GO OUT AND SIGN A GOOD CENTER AS A FA. WE NEED TO GIVE CATO TIME TO WORK WITH US AND IF HE STILL DOSEN'T HAVE IT DOWN BY FEBUARY THEN TRADE HIM.
JUST LOOK AT THE LINE UP:
C - CATO, GOOD FA, DRAFT PICK
PF - TAYLOR, HORRY, BULLARD, ROGERS
    SF - BRAND, WILLIAMS
    SG - MOBLEY, ANDERSON
    PG - FRANCIS, NORRIS
SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THIS IDEA?

i'm not a veteran of this forum, but for starters, take the caps lock off.

As for the trade you propose, I really don't think that the Bulls will trade Brand for 2 or 3 of our picks and KT. If he does come here, he'll probably be asking for close to the max salary, if not THE max. I'd rather spend that kind of money on C-Webb. Big Time.

We can't fit all those people on the roster.

Plus, you have too many centers & power forwards. You need a versatile smaller bench warmer. You left off Collier & Langhi. Other than those minor obstacles, not bad.

    BIG D25-

Wow-za, what a great idea. I think I can top it, though. Here's what the Rockets should do:

    1. Trade for Shaq. I've heard the Lakers will take Carlos Rogers and a first round pick for him.
    2. Trade for Kobe. Moochie + Bullard should make this one work.
    3. Trade up in the draft. We can give the Wizards our #13 pick for their #1 and then we can take Griffin.
    4. Sign Chris Webber. We all know he really wants to be in H-town.

Our starting lineup would be the following:

    Shaq
    C-Webb
    Griffin
    Kobe
    Francise

In general, coaches put players in the position they are best suited to play. Other than the 3 guard offense, you don't see coaches trying to cause mismatches with guys who are out of their natural position.

I can't think of many "star" players who play regularly out of position, it usually causes a mismatch that isn't in your favor. The best examples of players succeeding out of position I can think of:
Kemp in Seattle @ center (because Seattle didn't really have a center, not by choice)
Iverson @ SG (he paid the price in injuries too)
Duncan @ PF (should be a center, but is too good to share time with another player)

In other words, I don't think you put players out of position for the fun of it. There is usually an overwhelming reason, like 2 of your best 5 guys play the same position and the team benefits from their increased playing time, or you just don't have someone to play a position effectively so you throw the best person in that is available to do the job.

Not even worth the effort anymore. Writhe has some good ideas, lets pursue those options.

Rudy would never trade Bullard for Kobe. Why would he try to make LA better?
